Ive always loved it here. The small wildlife and little creatures, the roses and flowers and the greenhouse. And the mansion so beautifully built to withstand time. The quality crftsmanship then and now stand out. The gazebo is my meditation spot. And the creek is great . My dogs love it there, my jack russell goes gaga over the squirrels and small animals. She gets so excited its just so touching to watch her and her her vocal pleas to let go of her leash. But we dont hurt them ever. I cant say enough good things about the rose gardens, the greenhouse, last time my chihuahua and i went , we saw a flock of wild turkeys hanging out by the bush manor and art museum ! Its just an awesome place to visit. If you get tired you can head for the gazebo, on the mission st. Side of the park, sat sort of between an astounding rose garden and a majestic magnolia tree bigger than ive seen ever in oregon . Theres just so much to take in, all on that one property, that youll have to go back to see it all, and every time you go youre going to see something new. Oh forgot the track , ball field, yes there are wheelchair accessible paths and bathrooms which was real nice when i was losing my daughter to breast cancer. My best memories are haunting that park, and there will be more im sure. If for n other reason it will be to celebrate my own life. That park is a HUGE part of it. All pleasant memories to...
Read moreWent here the other day for the first time with a lady friend I'd made recently, shes been here several times. It's quiet, super quiet, surrounded by the scents of spring and summertime,it's about 10 degrees cooler than anywhere else is been. Creek is a few steps away. Seemingly not many people go here. The gazebo is a charming and timeless addition and lends a touch of romanticism to the area. The gazebo itself is dated, all wood construction and imperfectly built, giving it character, don't worry though,it is not going to fall in on you,it's sturdy. Im thinking, with all the time, effort and money out into that entire area,it's imperfect construction may only be aesthetic and purposely done to GIVE IT that timeless character. Take a new friend,or your love of 50 years here for picnic or just some get to know each other conversation. It has restrooms at the top where the entry is,a water fountain, all which at my time of being there were operational. Enjoy it. But please...
Read moreI have been coming here for 50 years . Outstanding if you have lots of time to make memories and a minimal budget! The roses are wonderful, fragrant but not overpowering, and there's just the right amount. Take time to check it out and you will find reasons of your own to love it as much as I do. Three different Children's play areas , what I consider a lovers bridge hiden at one end, the conservatory is free, hills to run up and roll down, polite dog owners who know to keep dogs leashed allow occasional petting. If you are feeling adventurous you can walk from the park to deepwoods and back! It is easy to spend the whole day and still find new things to explore next time. Websites give you the amenities-i am saying it's a whole...
