This one’s a long one. I’m never someone that writes negative reviews on businesses, because I don’t experience customer service so bad that I feel the need to leave a bad review. But unfortunately, my experience going to this shutterbug location hasn’t been pleasant any time I’ve gone. I normally would go to purchase film and get film processed. Almost every time that I have dropped off my film to get processed, I was sometimes told that I would get a call when the scans were sent to my email, but I wouldn’t always get calls. Many times I’ve had to call them myself to ask if they have finished processing, only to find out that they were done with it days ago but sent them to the wrong email. Or they sent me someone else’s scans. This seemed to happen almost every single time that they wouldn't send my scans to the right email. There were also a few times that certain conversations or comments made me uncomfortable. The last time that I came in, I was leaving to go on a trip the next day and needed to purchase film. I had no more time and no where else to get film. I was off of work 15 before shutterbug closed and called them to ask if I could come in for just a few minutes to buy some rolls and give them my business. I told them I’d arrive just minutes before they closed and I did. I asked if they could spare me a few just to buy some rolls. My husband even called and they told him that this would be okay. However, the woman I spoke to changed her mind and became unwilling to accommodate and I was met with a surprising rudeness. My husband came in and asked if they could wait for me to come in and quickly pick out some film, which literally would have taken less than a minute. Rather, the woman there forced to close the register even before the hour they closed and some guy decided to make my husband buy this guy’s picks of film? I really don’t understand why they couldn’t let me buy some film that would’ve taken 2 minutes and leave?? In fact, I wanted to drop off film to be processed right after our trip, right as we got back. We went to the Portland location just as they were about to close, asked if it was okay to do so, and we were met with such welcome and kindness and helpfulness and positive attitude. They were absolutely okay with not only serving us at the end of their day but also others that came into the store at the same time. We only go to the Portland location now. They haven’t messed up my email since I’ve started going, have been totally professional and process film next day! It sucks that I can’t go to the location that I’m closest to. Salem location has very poor customer service. I want to also recommend another local film developer-photovision. They are even better!! and I go to them...
Read moreI was Greeted by one Gentlemen who I knew who would have been excellent already guided me down the right path of what I was in the market for after giving a brief synopsis of what brought me into the store for the first time. Very welcoming name eludes me but thank you man. I needed time to fester the new information obtained from the first Employee after sometime and further pondering over new items and accessories (I know nothing about cameras so all of the items were new to me). But another Employee came in and introduced himself asked if I needed help. His Name was David, he oicked up right where the first guy left off, physically demonstrated not just explained the product I considered purchasing, was well spoken and did a wonderful job of not only showing off that product but willingly and without any sign of not wanting to provide good customer service continued to explain the value of the items I needed, teaching me about my camera along the way. After checking out and purchasing a series of items at a reasonable price I told him about my trip and had asked him if he could look at my camera and teach me some of its functions. He did, even set my camera to work with the type of photos I’ll be wanting to take for my upcoming trip. It was just an excellent experience and I didn’t mind one bit spending my...
Read moreLove this place for all my photography needs! I've been coming here for about a year since getting a film camera. The employees are always so friendly and willing to just talk to you and see any cool photos you may have taken! Recently, I went in to get film developed when I asked about a lens for my D90 Nikon. David was helping me and I am still new to photography, when I said i was looking for a wide angle lens, as the lens i have now is very zoomed in. He was so very nice and said he would be willing to do some research for me on what they had while my film was being developed. I was excited but didn't expect anything to happen for the next couple of days. About 2 hours later they had my film developed AND a amazing deal on perfect lens! Very nicely priced and they had a deal at the time, where If I had bought a lens then they would print my photos! I was nearly in tears with joy! The roll had very sentimental pictures that were printed and now I was set up with a amazing lens for my digital! David also gave me some pointers while not being rude or talking down to me. He appreciated that I was new and learning and I really enjoyed coming in! I will forever be a loyal...
