I love this park, it's kept nice and clean. No food allowed inside but there are benches and picnic tables set up outside in the grass area where you can have a snack. They lock up at sunset or at about 8pm I can't remember clearly but a guard comes around to tell you they will be closing soon. Plenty of bathrooms and some have changing tables. There is also a baby/toddler area. The park is also accessible to special needs children. They really have gone and tried to think of everyone. The only reason I don't give it a 5 star is because I would have loved if it had a water feature and maybe a bigger grass area but that really is pushing it as it is a wonderful park and probably the best one in Salinas. Also there is a mailbox of sorts when you first come in to the right heading to the grass area where you can donate books or take books, I think that's a really neat feature. Anyways, s really great park worthy of 5 stars. That's my 2 cents,...
Read moreReally fun park for younger kids, and the focus on accessibility is wonderful! My niece enjoyed the learning centers demonstrating braille and ASL. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was the perfect amount of crowded — plenty of other kids to play with, but no long waits for swings or slides. There is no food or drink allowed, which is actually fantastic because it helps keep the park clean while giving a built-in time limit on how long kids will want to stay there. When they’re hungry/thirsty, it’s time to go!
My one warning/negative comment is that you should watch your step around some of the equipment — the play surface is beginning to deteriorate and there are some holes that would be easy to trip on and twist an ankle or something. Also, some of the rope on the climbers is unraveling, with the steel cabling underneath poking through. Hopefully they’ll get enough donations to repair...
Read moreWe love taking all of our Littles here! Always safe and clean! I love the way the entrance is set up. Not allowing children's to just run off to the parking lot. Additionally, I love the fact they have a water bottle filling station, hand Sanitizer dispensers, recycle bins and a giving library.
I've noticed more recently, the park is lacking some love. There are some repairs needed, including the bathrooms. The truth is, regardless, I still love thus park. I'd like to know how I can help.
Visited again today. Since it's summer, my husband I have noticed a lot more people and unfortunately more issues. Visitors need to learn to have more respect of the property and rules. For the most part this lark is well taken care of, in spite of bad treatment by visitors. I would love to see what it takes to help with upkeep of this...
