Taquitos Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Salinas

Worst service ever. Wait time was over 50 minutes. I understand (on sunday around 11) Its busy but that is just unacceptable. If i wasent with a group that wanted to stay i would have left after 20 minutes.

The food is not anything special that i would wait this long for.

I ordered a bacon, cheese and egg burrito as shown by the image. This is a basic dish that i thought you could not mess up but i was wrong. Instead of what i ordered i got a burrito with ham, cheese and egg (its not a huge difference but i am paying for this, so i expect to get what ordered. Dont try to trick me can taste the difference. I told them and sent it back. I now had to wait longer to get my food. When i got my burrito it was cold. I asked the waitress i they could warm it up. She gave me a look like just be quite and eat it. They gave me back my dish but it was still cold. At this point i just ate it. Waitng over 90 minutes for this when it should of been less than 20 minutes.

There restrooms are very dirty and not kept clean. Im a guy so i can use the restroom here if i need to. But if the womens restroom is kept in the same condition then i highly dought you would like to use it.

Overall if you want to come here come on a slow day or dont come at all, you can still get the same taste some where else. I will not be returing at all, if you want my advice dont come to this location who knows if another location is better. Reasons to love this place:

The staff is fantastic! Friendly, they have been there for years and years! They get to know you and recognize you when you come in!

They have enchiladas with real mole! I’m not kidding! I’m from Mexico City and I’ve been in a quest to find a restaurant that serves real mole and not that nasty “enchilada sauce” that most restaurants serve! This plates are very generous with great taste they use real Mexican ingredients, and they are made by real Mexicans! Using real Mexican recipes! Making this a real Mexican food restaurant!!

Prices! They have great prices! For what you pay you get a lot of great food! With one burrito you could end world hunger!

The menudo and the pozole are to die for! Like I said real Mexican ingredients, real Mexican recipes, and by real Mexican people! Want to test to make sure that they are really Mexican? When you see any of them just say “que honda!?” (That’s the mexican “hello”) They will automatically greet you!

If you are hungry and don’t want to spend an arm and a leg to get some really great tasting food, stop by Taquitos, you will not be disappointed!

This used to be my favorite restaurant. I would literally go there once a week. The waitress knew our order. Went there yesterday and was stunned at the decline in service and food. What used to be a $30 lunch for 2 turned into a $50! That’s I but jump. But ok the price of everything is going up. Not a big concern. What is the big concern is the quality of food. I ordered asada sopes and the meat tasted old.I couldn’t finish 1 sope. My mom got a basic cheese enchilada and the cheese was burnt. They changed their salsa as it was hotter than usual (not a bad thing if you like spicy) our waitress never came back to check of everything was ok. We had to ask another server for more chips.
