This place was amazing! This is the first year my family heard about it so we were a bit shocked at the price per car (just under 60 after tax & fees) but once we were there, we quickly realized it absolutely worth every penny. The only thing I have to complain about and is also the reason i took a star away, there was one employee in the middle that seemed to be following us on foot just to complain about the speed I was going. When we got there and scanned our tickets, the lady said going 3mph is best, go slow and enjoy it. And that's what we did (or tried to). First this lady waved her wand and told us to slow down. Ok fine. Then we slow down and at one point came to a complete stop so I as the driver could take pics/videos. That was also a problem. Mind you there was a total of 4 cars including us that were in the entire thing at 7:30pm on a Saturday night, they were all ahead of us so it wasn't like I was holding up a line. There was also a car ahead of me and I didn't want to get too close so they'd think i was rushing them thru it. I saw her waving her wand as I slowly drove by, I rolled down my window and asked what the problem was. She told me no stopping, need to keep moving. I said "excuse me, I paid $60 to be here so I'm going to enjoy it as long as I'm not holding up traffic". After that we didn't have any problems and I'm not sure what her deal was but she was the only issue. Overall I wouldn't let one person stop us from visiting in the future, well worth the price and my family...
Read moreA New Christmas Tradition. We have been to the drive through show two years in a row now and it has now become a new Christmas tradition. The light show is unlike any other I’ve seen. It’s an hour drive for us but worth it. I love how you have a time window so no super long lines to wait in. The price is $$$ but once you see it, you will understand why. I also love how it is a different show each year, circulating between 7 or 8 different light shows each year. My 3 and 11 yr old get so excited when I tell them we are going again! My wife and too love it. It’s very intense and well managed. Just the enormous amounts of purple lights they had going from cone to cone in the parking lot, guiding the anxious drivers was amazing. And that’s before the intense show begins. If I could buy my tickets any month of the year, (for December) that would be a welcomed bonus. Or a free bounce back special, I would throw my family in the trunk (hyperbole obviously duh) and make the 2nd hour long drive. A must try to any Christmas light looking families. Do it! I videoed the entire drive thru experience but Google only allows pictures which I did not take any. We will be going a 3rd time,...
Read moreWe found entry to be a bit difficult as it was directly from the main road rather than from the fairgrounds parking lot. My first advice would be to plan to enter at Christmas in Color in South Jordan instead. If, for some reason, you insist on going to World of Illumination, though, approach the gate from the north. Be prepared to be asked to turn off your headlights, and then observe that roughly 1/3 of cars still obnoxiously have their headlights on throughout the display. As for the display, it is big and there are a lot of lights, but the choreography is as bland as vanilla. There's no storytelling, no variety through the sections. The entire display, which lasts roughly 15 minutes, gets old by the end. It seems all they did was get whatever holiday shapes they could, organized them by shape and size, and then told them all to do the same thing. Next year, please add a bit of storytelling and some variation in style as you go through the display. Admittedly, a lot of work goes into preparing a display such as this, but Christmas in Color is done much better than this one and...
