I was in the flood inSan Angelo on July 3-4 2025. I got off light compared to some of my neighbors. Still, I lost a fair amount of stuff. Went to Ollie's to se about replacing some it. Mostly little items, but there were a couple of larger things, like display cases, end tables, etc. They had most of what I needed, but the furniture items were MDF, not solid wood. Yeah, if it's not solid wood, don't want it, no matter how great the pricing might be. Ollie's has been terminally short-handed for months, so finding a staffer, much less a helpful one, was like finding a 🦄. The atmosphere is typical Bargsin Basement. Stacks of Mostly useless junk with gems mixed in. Like Rice-a-Roni. I hadn't seen it in stores for years. I go to Ollie's and find 2 cases of it! Didn't want to be greedy, so I only snagged 1 case Overall, a visit to Ollie's is like a cross between Ross, Walmart, and Kohls. I went in October and they had lots of Christmas merch! Lots of bargain toys for the kiddos and lots of household items.
