Bead Boys — Attraction in San Antonio

I’ve always really liked shopping at this store for beads and charms as a jewelry maker, and I’ve always left with more than one item each time. They carry things I can’t find anywhere else, but my last two visits left me feeling really uncomfortable. On my second visit, I went with my girlfriend, and we’re both in our early 20s. It was painfully clear that the man at the counter was watching us on the cameras the entire time. We were the only customers there, so it felt like he was specifically focused on us. Went into this bead store with my mom, daughter and grandson to buy high end beads and just immediately as we walked in we were VERY RUDELY and practically yelled to my 4yr old grandson to not swing his beads. My grandson was admiring them and barely swung them. I would have appreciated if he would have asked us nicely and not rudely to us ADULTS and not my 4yr old grandson! I was just there last week and there was a small child there and she was playing with the beads and he was talking to the mom and dad, like nothing. I was blown away by the over and above personal help from the owner, Terri. She gave me detailed help for a jewelry class I’ll teach for a nonprofit organization. Terri helped me think through the materials needed to prepare the student kits and the tools & findings needed. She provided her own instructions for a similar class. I definitely give this bead shop a 5 star rating. The owners are extremely knowledgeable, kind, generous and very helpful. I’m grateful for the help I received and I highly recommend this bead shop.
