Good spot to fish i recommend fishing at 4 -7 with cut up bluegill for catfish or in the early morning when its not too hot. Cast out to the middle of the River with no float and let it hit the bottom, use a big weight maybe a 2 oz for distance. For Bass i recommend fishing the south side of the River south of the dam use a nightcrawler cut in 3rds then thread it on a bait hook size 10 or 12 with 3 split shots 8 inches above the hook no float just hop it. For tilapia i recommend using a cast net on the eastside of the River their is a dock throw a cast net out there.

Love the trail, I started on Military all way to Downtown San Antonio, I noticed alot of homeless ppl along the way walking, no disrespect all good probably harmless, but I would recommend if going alone, be prepared for anything, am always doing trails so I have a few experiences on different trails with wild life, (not ppl, but you never know) not gonna recommend to have a gun but if you have a permit why not,. (happy trails be safe).

Great place to go fishing, biking, running, walking, picnic, cookouts. Usually it is not crowded at all, even on a beautiful breezy Saturday afternoon in October. Biking is easy because there are bikes you can rent for up to 60 minutes. Only thing is a bit contrasting is that the refinery behind the park, goes on full cylinders, you can hear the constant flaming tower of the refinery. So it is not as quite as you would expect.

I went on the Trail to walk and I was loving it but got the strange feeling that the park workers were following me. I saw two separate golf type buggies, two persons each. The first set were male and female, both he and she had dirty blond, shaggy hair. Wherever I went they were and there they were again, stopping, staring, doing nothing, but being right there watching me. Few minutes later there they are again as I hear their buggie or cart appraoching behind me. I kept walking down...there on the other side he and she in yellow shirts and khakis shouted out in what sounded like a male voice the signature Tarzan roar; Odd! The other set were two males in blue button up, short sleeves driving along behind me as I went further 2 miles down. The further I went alone there they were behind me" circling and doing apparently nothing, but checking how far I was going! I just have to say I believe the people at the park choose pedestrians they want to stalk like beautiful slender young black women when she...

I gave it 3 stars because it is nice when you go during the week. There aren't so many people there trying to give you dirty looks. We rarely go here because I think Brackenridge Park is alot better. The people are friendly, there's more for the kids to do and they can also play in the water if it gets too hot, most of Brack is shaded, except the playground, which we rarely use because my son loves biking the little trails. But sometimes we don't feel like driving far so we will come here for a very short while. If you have a long board and no kids the trails...
