I have a mixed review of Extra Space. The storage facility is very nice, secure, and very clean. However, we had a huge mixup due to communication errors. Long story short - We were trying to reserve a unit in San Antonio from Houston, were unable to do so over the phone, and had to drive to a location in Houston to reserve it. No big deal, except they messed up our size, charged us for a 10x30 but gave us a 10x20. Called the next day said they fixed it, but when we got to SA they hadnât. Which is frustrating - no one wants a surprise change on a busy day.
We drove a U-Haul in from Houston on a time-crunch, and had to wait an hour because no one was there to help us. The manager, Adrian, was on his lunch break - and while he was waiting a line of people started to form. No one expected the office to be closed on a Saturday during business hours.
There were many frustrations, but ultimately everything worked out because Adrian was ON IT. He handled every angry customer with respect and understanding, and he did not sit down the rest of the day. He handled our conflicts and those of other customers perfectly, and if I was only reviewing him he would get 10/10. Adrian was doing the job of three people, and needs help and a substantial raise. So Extra Space - give great managers like Adrian the help they need!! And give the guy a raise! đ Mix-ups happen, and if it werenât for Adrian our experience on unloading day wouldnât have been...

Chanel was absolutely fabulous in taking care of me and what I needed. I had to change my unit last minute while the movers came. She quickly looked up for another unit that Iâd needed (mind you I was being a little picky) and allowed the movers entry into new unit while she and I did paperwork. Why? Because she was aware of movers charging by the hour and wanted to ensure they were making best use of thier time for my cost!! Who thinks of those things for thier customers? While there for about 2 hours, I noted she and another employee, walking the premises often, and cleaning the areas ensuring the place looked great! Which it does. Very clean, well maintained, and highly secure storage. If you ever are in need of a storage this is the place to go!! Ask for Chanel. She is wonderful and the reason why Iâd return to that specific location regardless of convenience.    Read moreI had a great experience with Extra Space storage on De Zavala. First of all, I had been driving the moving truck all day in order to get to the storage before they closed. I called John at Extra Space to see if there was anyway he could stay open 15 minutes later. To my surprise he stayed open a little later and gave me the best customer service I have ever experienced in my 29 years of existence. Not only did they stay open later for me but John went the extra mile and gave me a great tour through the facilities and made me feel that my household goods were in good hands. Moving can be very stressful at times, however this was the least stressful part of the process. I really appreciate everything John and his team have done for me and I couldn't ask for a more professional and helpful customer service. Top notch...
