I was wrongfully accused of stealing and chased out of the store at HEB on 999 E Basse Rd by two unprofessional, young slackers who were casually surfing their cell phones before making the unfounded assumption that I was a shoplifter.
I was originally shopping at HEB at 999 E Basse Rd for a quick bottle of water before remembering I already had extra bottled water back at work. Realizing I didn't need what I was originally there for, I casually observed two HEB employees standing along an isle near a sample station or grocery cart and they were each huddled over a cell phone sharing and discussing cell phone pictures. The male was "Jeremy" according to his name tag and was likely some sort of security-related HEB staff member. The female was a younger chubby hispanic girl either pretending to work at a sample station or slacking off at slowly returning groceries in a cart. Just as I observed them slacking off and surfing images on a cell phone, the female saw me notice them and took offense to it. She said, "Can I help you?" I nodded and was like "I'm good" before walking away and headed towards the exit to return back to work.
As I casually walked towards the exit of HEB, both people followed closely behind me and the female continuously made accusatory statements to suggest that they wanted me to slow down and suspected me of theft. She started with, "Can I help you? What are you doing? Why are you walking away? What are you hiding? Why don't you slow down and talk to us? Hello? What are you trying to hide?!?!?" In that moment, they were clearly insinuating that they were accusing me of theft without a shred of any evidence to suggest I was stealing. They were surfing their cell phones and casually jumped to the conclusion that just because I changed my mind about buying the water, I was a shoplifter despite having not seen anything to suggest I was stealing anything from HEB.
So I circled back and spoke with the store director, Kim Taylor, who provides me with a cookie-cutter apology followed by a generic statement that she will hear "their side of the story" before deciding upon the appropriate action. I told her that I am not seeking anything free. I want nothing out of it but a follow-up with some assurance that these people will be held accountable but she refused to even give me that. It felt more like a brief apology on their behalf and "have a nice life!" I want Jeremy and his female associate held accountable for this...
Read moreThis HEB NEEDS to look into the security guard that is here at this 999 E Basse Road, Alamo Heights location who is on a work shift today July 11, 2025 at 8PM CDT.
So i'm a regular customer who comes to this Alamo Heights shopping area parking lot every single time after work to buy Food from the expensive restaurants here and eat it in my own car while i finish up on emails, while i am In my car.
And this VERY RUDE security guard from this HEB comes up to the window of MY CAR today 7/11/2025 while my window is halfway down while he can CLEARLY see that i am on a PHONE CALL. He comes RUDELY close to my window close enough where he can reach in with his arm and UNLOCK my car and open my door. This HEB security employee bothers me when I'M NOT EVEN PARKED At the HEB parking lot. I am parked infront of the business: Dietz Mclean Optical. So why is he sneaking up and catching me off guard by surprise When his job is only for the HEB parking lot and Not any other parking lots that is NOT part of HEB at this plaza.
IT IS VERY RUDE for him to sneak up to the window of my car when he can obviously see that I AM ON A PHONE CALL. If i wasn't paying attention he could have easily unlocked my car by sticking his hand inside my open window while i'm on a call. IT'S VERY RUDE for an employee security guard in HEB to be bothering other customers in this shopping plaza. IT'S VERY RUDE to come up to a person's private car when you can clearly see that they are ON A PHONE CALL.
I had to tell this intruder of HEB guard to stay away from me and my car and i repeated it 4x that i am on a PHONE CALL and he is interrupting. Instead he continued to ask questions of why i am parked when I am Obviously parked because i'm on a PHONE CALL.
It seems he's using his security uniform from one business to provoke people when they are not doing anything and are on a PHONE CALL. This is NOT the first time this security guard has been a disturbance. He likes to circle around my car in the past 3 weeks just because he sees me in my vehicle by myself and am a female. And i Never park at HEB so why is he consistently disturbing me EVERY TIME.
Leave people alone. You don't know their SCHEDULE. You don't know if they have responsibilities that they do while they're in their car eating. I thought that this guy was gonna rob me with the way he got too close to my open car window. This guy needs to be reported if he doesn't know how to respect customers of other...
Read moreI was at this store on 12/3/2024. I was at the self checkout. My total came out close to $30. I followed the checkout prompts and accepted the charge. I waited for a receipt. The checkout system went blank. The attendant assisted, and the system came back up. She said you'll need to pay. I was puzzled because I had just went through the payment process. I checked my bank account, and had the amount of the groceries charged & pending on my bank account. A manager came up and was told what had happened. He proceeded to the accounting department, who said their system had no transaction of payment. But my bank account shows payment. The manager with an arrogant attitude wanted me to pay AGAIN for the groceries. He kept saying, " I Know, you will get your money back from your bank. I know I know" I asked him why should I trust you. "Because I know you will get the money back and it won't post ". I refused to pay AGAIN and didn't get the groceries. There was another arrogant manager who put himself in the situation with the same response. So this morning, as I'm getting ready for work, I check my bank account, and guess what!!! The charge posted. I didn't get the money back like I was told by the arrogant managers and no groceries. I had to call the credit/debit card dept, and now I'm waiting 3-5 extra business days for my refund. I'm the customer, and I'm left with the hassle and frustration in waiting for my money and no groceries. HEB dropped the ball badly on this one. I'm sending to all social media so people will be aware HEB doesn't care about their customers, just in...
