Loved this place for both food and sake cocktails! Total value for money. Read below for detailed review. We were here on a weekend for late dinner. The place was not crowded but had some tables filled, ensuring that they followed limited seating capacity protocol due to COVID-19. We had called in earlier to reserve a table. They were taking proper precautions - right from ensuring physical distancing between tables, to taking our food orders and while serving the food. We had ordered the Yuzu Saketini and the Wakatake Sake bottle for drinks. The saketini cocktail was delicious with a nice Yuzu base and smoky aftertaste. I could down glasses of that one! The shishito peppers and spicy edamame were great appetizers. I would definitely recommend the spicy edamame just for their smoked flavor with that just right spicy tangy sauce. The rolls (Delicato, Bora Bora, Tropical, Ragin Cajun, Godzilla) that we ordered were all delicious, no complaints at all. I really liked the Bora Bora roll with shrimp tempura and all four sauces. I found the Delicato roll to be on the heavier side since it was crumbed and deep fried. We loved the chicken yakisoba noodles that we ordered which they customized to make them more spicy. A very good and safe dining experience with quality and tasty food.

We understood that we ordered towards the end of the evening (an hour before close), when we saw that our order was scheduled to be done right as they closed we showed up early in case they had it done so that they wouldn’t have to worry about us getting our order right as they were closing, we were told that it would be another 20-25 minutes (understandable we showed up early). We came back 35 minutes later to give them a little extra time, when we walked in our food was sitting in the back waiting to be bagged. We sat for another 15 minutes watching our food get cold as the manager checked out servers and other employees who seemed much more preoccupied with leaving. The food would have been a 5/5 if it hadn’t sat for an extra 15 minutes getting cold and soggy. There was also a banana (pictured) in our vegetable tempura, which seems like an odd choice and was quite honestly very unappetizing, especially with a soggy tempura crust. If this was intentional, they may want to reconsider... that being said, the food was still very good but given the service, we will likely not be dining at this location again.

Was served by Maya last night and her service was phenomenal. She was super sweet and personable all while providing top tier service. We were super thirsty, drinking a bunch of water, and she made sure our cups were always full. She is great at her job, even chatting with us after we paid out and tipped, which i know she doesn’t have to do, and as a server im sure she was busy. Goes to show that she’s working hard even when she’s already been paid. I asked her for a recommendation, she was super knowledgeable and i ended up with an amazing roll (Solana). I worked food service the last two years and even though it doesn’t bother me, I always subconsciously notice when a point of service is not met. Not this girl! Maya’s got it down to a T. Really appreciate all her hard work last night and I think it warrants a raise! I don’t ever leave reviews but i really wanted management to know how great this girls doing out there. Raise! Promotion! Send it her way!

For what it’s worth, I never write reviews, but I felt inclined to write one about this location in the hopes it reaches the right individual(s) so this location may improve.

I’m a DoorDash driver, and tonight, 6/11, I waited an hour for a delivery order of two rolls when the restaurant itself didn’t have an abundance of guests in the dining area or at the bar.

When I arrived at 8:45 P.M., I was told it would be about fifteen minutes. That’s the standard wait time when I pick up an order from this location. Next to me was another DoorDash driver waiting for her customer’s order as well. We talked, and as time went on neither of our orders were ready, even after the initial fifteen minute wait. A woman came in after us and proceeded to wait for her to-go order, and another DoorDash driver came in after her.

More time passes.

I communicated with my customer and apologized to him on behalf of the restaurant for this long wait time as I was giving the three sushi chefs working the line the benefit of the doubt. The employee working the to-go counter apologized for the wait and offered us drinks.

More time passes.

Closing time is fast approaching, and I noticed that the three sushi chefs working the line would look over at us waiting and smirk. Those smirks were not a very welcomed or respected sight for us. A server came by and asked how long we’ve been waiting and apologized profusely to us and told us that she had an issue earlier where one of her tables waited 30 minutes on their order as well.

Finally, an hour after I was supposed to pick this order up it finally came out.

If you run the sales report for 6/11/23 from 8:30 P.M. to 9:45 P.M., I can almost guarantee the vast majority of sales came from delivery orders or to-go orders, so the fact it took an hour for one of those to come out is inexcusable, and the mocking smirks from the three sushi chefs working the line is unfathomable.

The speed of service must improve no matter the time and no matter the status of guest, whether they’re dining in, taking it to-go, or having it delivered. The energy in this restaurant was very lazy and there was just a simple lack of care. My time was wasted, my income was jeopardized, and the guest who placed this order was left with a sour taste in their mouth long before their food arrived.

Again, I write this in the hopes it’ll help improve this particular location. The speed of service needs to be better and the management needs to reflect a...

I ordered online and asked for delivery. I I put my credit card information in and expected it in less than an hour. It didn't come so I checked my emailed receipt and found it was designated pick up. I called this resturant and inquired about my delivery.

The person who answered the phone noted she was aware the computer at times changed delivers to pick ups and that it had happened twice that day. She never asked my name or my order number and just said its a pick up. I asked if they delivered and she said yes. I said I wanted it delivered and she said nothing so I then offered to drive over and pick it up. She said ok.

I drove over and stood in the pick up area with nobody greeting me for about 5 minutes. Employees walked around me and by me but never offered to help me. Finally, I was helped.

I asked if the food I was to receive was sitting on the shelf at room temperature for an hour. She said yes and showed me the bag. I explained my displeasure at this. Another employee walked by and said I should talk to the manager and sent him over.

The manager offered to remake the meal. Keep in mind, this was about an hour and a half after I put in my order online and paid for it. I explained waiting while they remade something that should have been delivered an hour ago was ridiculous and told him to refund my money and left.

He walked me out and said what can I do to make this right. I told him deliver it to my home on time and fresh. I was honestly stunned he asked me because they had so many chances to make it right: when I ordered it, when I called to inquire about my late order and asked for it be delivered, when they knew I was coming and the food had been sitting in at room temperature for at least 45 minutes at that point, when I left and he failed to offer to deliver a fresh meal to my home after it was remade...

Sushi Zushi worked hard to provide really bad service many times during this one experience. I realized they have competitors and found one. I...

I went in today to get my longtime favorite Chirashi Bowl. As a previous server at the Stone Oak location, I'm familiar with the dishes. After a few past experience that weren't too great, I was in the area and decided to give this location another try. The portions were small, with little rice and a few missing pieces of fish. I'm not one to nitpick but I did ask for more rice on the side and the pieces of missing fish. It's a $22 dish. The manager could tell that I was frustrated and he did offer me a refund, which was really nice. I was appreciative. The extra rice that they gave me and the pieces of fish were given to me in a mini Chirashi bowl to-go container. Eating on the go and in hurry in my car, I had put too much joy sauce on the mini- rice, so I transferred the full bowl to the mini portion of rice. The portion is perfectly fit the mini to go container, It wasn't over stuffed it was how a mini would be portioned. So my full Chirashi was in fact a mini.

I had asked when calling to place my Togo order, if it was going to be a regular portion and the receptionist said yes. I explained to her that last time (the same thing that happened today) has happened before. She had said that maybe the confusion was because I had ordered a mini Chirashi. I told her that usually I do get the full but that one time I did get the mini. She assured me that I would be getting the corrected portion and it would not be an issue. I was really hoping this time would be different and I would've enjoyed this meal.

Sushi Zushi has always been one of my favorite places to dine. This location particularly has left me disappointed the past handful of times. A long winded review for sure, It's just a shame that I no longer have a favorite sushi place to...
