This is the worst school anyone could ever attend! My husband attended this school for 3 months before being told he was magically terminated because his last date of attendance was 10/01/15. Even though he was told this 11/01/15 after he had already started his new class. August 2015 when he was told "The in classroom class was cancelled. You will have to take the course online". Which at first we were annoyed because that's something they should've known about at least a month prior but instead we found out the day before. November 1st rolls around and my husband started his new class and he was told that he was terminated because his last date of attendance was October 1st. Which didn't make any sense because he was doing his class work online every single day and turning it in when it was due. He was even early on a lot of the assignments. He went in spoke with the Dean and some other high ranking person and they told him that there was nothing they can do. They even showed him emails from the Registrar office of his absences. He explain to them that he has never received an email stating their concern for his absences like they have done in the past and they still said there was nothing they can do. Although my husband was using his GI Bill. He was still 2 weeks away from getting his Financial aid pay out. Financial Aid office is a joke at this school. The financial Aid director is extremely unprofessional and rude! My husband has completed more than 60% of his course work and so when it came down to the Title IV return calculation she decided to be very rude and disrespectful on the phone with him and in person. She went straight into blaming him for the termination and talking to him like he was a child. So when he called I asked him to give her permission to speak with me which he did. I asked her like an adult about the calculations of the title IV because they were supposedly not done with the calculations but yet gave my husband a random number. I may not work in Financial Aid but I know how to do the calculations for the Title IV return . She didn't answer my question instead she went straight into yelling at me and telling me that I'm wrong and wasting her time. She even had the nerve to say that I'm keeping her from her job. I was being polite at first but I did get frustrated at the way she was speaking to me so I commented with "If you were doing your job then you would answer our questions instead of yelling". A week after that my husband finally gets his Title IV calculations sheet and it was hand written and everything was completely wrong. So he called again and the Financial Aid director told everyone in the office to not speak to him to only send him through to her. Okay fine...But once we did she would tell us that she's been doing this for a long time and she knows what she is doing. The reason its so low is because we have to pay the VA back...Which we already knew that and they were suppose to give that check to us and we pay it back which they didn't do. They kept the money and everything else and gave my husband a $900.. They over charged the VA by $1080 and we are currently paying that back. I informed her that her calculations were wrong and that she shouldn't of put zero she was suppose to put the actually amount of what was released to the school and she yelled at me even more then hung the phone up. We filed a compliant with the school and with the department of education. Nothing has been done yet. I really hope that when things start taking off on the complaints, I hope they get shut down. Also to add to my earlier review the a woman in the registrar office told me that she didn't care about military. Her words not mine! I wish that she only knew the sacrifice he made so that she can sleep peacefully at night. We were dual military in this house and when I went off due to her comment she assumed that I was never military because she stated "just because your husband was military doesn't mean you were too!" I cant wait for them to...
Read moreI went to this school in 2007 for an Associate's of Applied Science in Business Office Administration. I completed the program and obtained my degree. Five years later I am still without a job that pertains to my degree. Any employer I go to does not even bother to ask about the degree or seem to care that I have one. It's like having two high school diplomas when you only needed one in the first place. I used Hallmark's career placement services twice and they stopped trying to help me within one month of attempting to utilize their services and were not successful in job placement, which is supposed to be their own job! I have been working customer service jobs with no opportunity for advancement that pay just above minimum wage ever since thanks to Hallmark. I have been using the Texas Workforce to find me the right job with the right pay and am currently receiving unemployment. I am also in the process of trying to get my student loans forgiven, as they have only put me in debt instead of led me down the path towards a happy career. Do not attend this school, it is like high school all over again! Go to one of the Alamo Colleges instead, your money is better invested there! If I would've known I was paying 18k for a useless piece of paper that got me nowhere, I would've told these scammers to shove it a long time ago! Seriously, Alamo Colleges is the way to go! For a better future, go to a...
Read moreThis is the worst school. I can only speak for their nursing program, please people do not waste your time or money. I wasted one year of my life and $20,000 for them to kick me out of the program after failing pharmacology one time. At the time of admission they withheld information from me and my other classmates. They were going to be shutting down after my cohort and we were not allowed to fail any classes. Pharmacology teacher went out of her way to make sure that I failed. She was definitely on a power trip. She would not except my work even though I had it done and ready to turn in. The chairman of the nursing program never helped me once, even after I told him I have had unfair treatment. They try to make exams as hard as they possibly can because they want to fail everyone out and only be left with students they know for sure they would pass the NCLEX. They were all about NCLEX pass rates. They don’t really care about you or your education. They are only interested in having good scores for their school. Please pick a better nursing school than this one!!!! I’m currently in a new nursing program that I love and I learned more in the first month here than I ever did...
