Packed with items, I tend to see items come and go each visit. I've been shopping at this Korean Market for many years now. Its always worth dropping in if its been a few months since your last visit as items are always changing.
Recently I noticed the pre-made side dish selections had increased, while options on ice-cream had decreased. I visited for pints of green tea ice cream and was disappointed they no longer had any. Thai tea and Ramune was available a few months ago but was not to be found this most recent trip.
I frequent this location when Im wanting to buy some sweet snacks, as they have an excellent selection of Pocky sticks, gummies, and other snack food items.
The frozen food section is also rather extensive, as is the sauce, spice, noodle & rice sections.
Its worth a visit, you never know what you'll find.
RESTAURANT REVIEW Ordering & Service I walked in, didnt see a menu, saw people working in the kitchen and sat down. After a few minutes I walked up to the counter, and waited for someone. When I asked for a menu, the lady behind the counter pressed a remote control and turned the TV's on that displayed the menu above the counter.. The entire area was about 7 tables, with 1 cook and 1 cashier/food prep.
What Others Were Ordering The bulgogi was fairly priced, but didnt say if it came with anything, so I just blindly ordered, and took a seat. There were 3 tables with people waiting. 5 orders of food came out before mine, and it took about 20 minutes to get my food. I saw huge plates of Galbi ribs come out that looked amazing. I saw one person order Bi Bim Bap, which also looked good, and another order 2 bowls of some kind of ramen or soup.
The Food When they called me to the counter a sizzling iron skillet of bulgogi, cooked with onions and carrots was waiting, a bowl of rice, and sides of beansprouts, kimchi, carrots & cucumbers, and and an item I had not tried before and couldnt identify. (I've since been told it was probably dried squid in red chile)
I tried the Bulgogi first, and it had very good flavor. It was definitely hot, steam pouring off the plate, the portion was decent, not undersized, but not overly large either. The marinade was really good, some of the better bulgogi Ive had in San Antonio. Next I tried the bean sprouts, they were good, no strong flavors (they are made with sesame oil, scallions, salt and sugar). Next up the kimchi, I'd never tried the kimchi from the grocery here, they sell what appears to be a house made Kimchi, and its much more affordable than other places. It was surprisingly good. It wasnt overly sour, or bitter, or spicy.. It was kind of a middle ground of flavor. Basically if you dont like this one, you probably wont like any kimchi. Then there was the cucumber/carrot side, which is pretty plain as its just soft veggies in an oil mix (and it was as expected).
Last up I tried the unknown item, (which had a semi-fishy taste to it) I assumed maybe it was fish, or something in fish sauce. But its possible it was dried squid. I cant say this side is one I would eat again, but I tried it..
Overall the food was good, I would eat here again, the Galbi looked amazing, I'll definitely go back to try it. If anything I may do a little more of my Asian grocery shopping here, so I can grab a meal all in one stop.
Service: 8.5/10 Price: 8.5/10 Portions: 8.5/10 Flavor:...

My family lived in Thailand for a while, and we had a favorite Korean place run by a sweet Korean lady. Our Korean friends said that it was the most authentic place around our community, so this is what I'm comparing the Korean Market restaurant to.
We ordered: Bulgogi, Kimcheecheegae, Biminbap, spicy noodle soup, dumplings and the pork cutlet (for the unadventurous 6 year old). My 14 year didn't think the spicy noodle soup was spicy at all, so she was a little disappointed, but thought it still had a good taste. My 11 year old was very happy with the unlimited rice, and my 2 littles were super happy with the old Korean lady who was handing out candy from the candy jar! And, everything else was Super Yummy and as close to our experience in Thailand!
btw- old reviews say to order and pay at the market's register, but now you order and pay in the restaurant at the window.
Market: Yay! We were able to find Korean stainless steel chop sticks, get some fresh made kimchee, my favorite Korean sweet brown rice, and some chewy candy that my daughters used to love when we lived in Thailand (but can't find in American...
Read moreWas excited to go to this store because of the high ratings. Store seem to carry a variety of Asian food. It has a restaurant in the store. Did not try or go into that area of the store because I was on my lunch hour and had limited time. I browsed around and saw they had a variety of kimchi. They had fresh wrapped sushi rolls on the side. I noticed the wrapped sushi did not have a price on the package but I just grabbed the smallest package. I also grabbed a small container of squid. The squid also did not have a price but it did say 1.49lb. My container was no more than 1/4lb. I went to the register to pay and there was a lady on the phone. I thought she was taking an order since she was writing on paper. So I patiently waited. Five minutes passed and I wondered that must be a huge order or an angry customer. I looked at the paper she was writing on and noticed she was just scribbling on her paper (ignoring me standing in front of her). She scanned my 2 items and it came out to $8.50 (????) I cannot believe the price of 11 slices of sushi in a tray and a sm. container of squid.is almost $10.00. I will no longer purchase items from here unless they have a price tag. They should...
