I was craving for Hong Kong cafe style food. I stumbled upon this cafe. I noticed that they had an open now sign. I’m assuming they opened not too long ago.

First impression on the atmosphere. The restaurant overall looks like taco restaurant and later on taken over by Chinese restaurant. It didn’t seem like they spent a lot of time and effort on converting the restaurant to a different style after taking over the restaurant. It doesn’t bother me that much but it’s something I do notice. As long the food is good I don’t mind at all.

First of all, the menu was all in English. I’m confused especially this is a Chinese restaurant. There wasn’t any bilingual language on the menu. I’m wondered if they just gave us only English menu. Not a deal breaker.

We ordered the chicken wings and creamy pork chop cooked rice. The reviews raved about the chicken wings.

They gave us free soup as you can see in the image. That was a pleasant surprise. It tasted good.

The chicken wings smelled really good. The taste was good too. The chicken wings look extremely pump to the point it looks unnatural. However, I noticed in the other review photos had more chicken wings. We only got 6 pieces. Did the restaurant give less now?

As for the creamy pork chop cooked rice. The pork chop was ok. It tasted overly dried. It didn’t feel like there was enough cream or maybe the cheese absorb all the cream.

We also ordered the ice milk tea. It was generally ok not the best. It gave me a weird after taste. It must have been the condense milk that they used that I’m not a big fan of. The tea that they used is correct but the condense milk is a bit off with after taste.

I would still recommend people to try it out at least once as a fair chance since it’s hard to run a restaurant nowadays. I also can tell this is a small family owned restaurant. I know it’s hard to run business nowadays.

I personally won’t be...

Sunshine HK Cafe is a true hidden gem for lovers of Asian cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the warm and attentive service sets the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The staff is incredibly welcoming, quick to offer recommendations, and always ready to ensure your experience is exceptional. The menu boasts an impressive selection of authentic Hong Kongese dishes, featuring everything from classic BBQ pork and fried egg on rice, and soup noodles with a selection of meats (or not.) One standout dish that truly stole the show for me was the crispy tofu in chili sauce—a perfect balance of crunch and heat. Beyond the incredible food, the cozy yet stylish ambiance makes this spot a great choice for both casual dinners and special occasions. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Hong Kong cuisine or simply looking to explore something new, this restaurant delivers an unforgettable experience. If you haven’t been yet, it’s time to add this place to your...

My family came here for our first time on New Year's Day for brunch. There's so much to like about this place! This is one of our favorite Hong Kong cafes in the Bay Area. Attentive service. Nice decor that reminds us of Hong Kong. Updated holiday hours on website. Easy to find parking right next to restaurant. Complimentary borscht soup All the quintessential items on menu: congee, all-day breakfast (a plus!), HK street food/snacks, baked rice/spaghetti (good to have option of white rice or fried rice), sizzling platters, noodle soups, HK cafe beverages Beef curry and rice was our favorite dish. Flavorful, actually a bit spicy (perfect!) Mixed grill combo perfect for meat lovers or those with a big appetite! Delicious! Room for improvement: menu in Chinese, a little less sweet on the HK milk tea, more black pepper in black...
