I have been a client of Alto Pharmacy for approximately three years. From the outset, I have been thoroughly impressed by their consultations, auto-refill program, user-friendly website layout, and the promptness in the delivery of medications. I have referred several individuals to Alto Pharmacy, and I hold them in high regard, having left numerous positive reviews. I manage multiple medications, and there has not been a single issue that they have been unable to resolve. Their messaging system is exceptionally user-friendly, and their response times are commendably swift. I hold this pharmacy in high esteem.
However, I received a notification yesterday indicating that they would cease supplying my Schedule II medication, which they have provided for nearly two years. The notice did not include an explanation for this discontinuation, and as a 72-year-old individual, I particularly valued the convenience of their medication delivery service, as I prefer to avoid unnecessary travel. I am quite distressed by their decision to discontinue this particular medication, necessitating my search for an alternative pharmacy. I prefer to consolidate all my medications in one location.
At this juncture, I am contemplating whether to continue my relationship with Alto Pharmacy, given that they did not provide any rationale for the cessation of this medication. The absence of an explanation in their correspondence is concerning. This experience is unprecedented for me, as I have never encountered a pharmacy that selectively determines which medications to fill. I am deeply disappointed in...
Read moreI cannot understand the 1-star reviews given. The Walgreens I'm used to dealing with has: on more than one occasion had my prescription out of stock, delaying my medication or resulting in partially-filled medication; told me my prescription was ready when it was not; quoted me a pickup time of 30 minutes that actually equated to over an hour; and had a pharmacist give me rude look when I asked her a question about my medication.
Alto pharmacy is a dream. It is not just the opposite of everything I mentioned above, it is more. They have great customer service, from the agents that reach out about pricing and pickup/ delivery to the pharmacists that are willing to meet with and educate you.
I am always skeptical of if free delivery is actually free, but one of the prescriptions I got here was actually $20 cheaper from Alto than a different pharmacy; that is because Alto will search for discounts for you in addition to your insurance benefits. All that to say, I don't think they are inflating their medication costs to cover delivery fees. I honestly can't believe a pharmacy like this exists and hope they can maintain their same level of service once everyone else...
Read moreThis was a terrible experience. Maybe it’s because the medications I need are not readily available at a regular pharmacy AND cost close to $4K in one order that REQUIRES a signature on delivery. But having a delivery tracker that first says 30 min away and proceeds to push the ETA back an hour multiple times until it’s now saying 9:45pm doesn’t instill confidence or convenience. The delivery person shows up exasperated and without saying hello in response to my greeting tries to get me to sign the screen without me knowing what’s in this box. I said I’d like to make sure it’s all here and they said “well you’re the last delivery so it can’t be wrong.” I explained that these are time sensitive medications and I needed to make sure it’s the correct stuff and opened the box. The delivery person said “I have to go, you got it,” took a picture of me and the box and left. While I’m sure this delivery person was tired and tried to say that they left an hour after they were supposed to start delivering, the whole interaction was really unprofessional. And while I didn’t have choice as to where my doctor sent the Rx, I will certainly not be eager to order anything like this...
