My daughter recommended we try a Korean day spa. I love massages so we went to Aqua Day Spa. What a treat! We made a reservation online the day before. Upon arrival, we were provided all details explaining how it works. Ladies are exclusively with ladies. We undressed and took showers and entered the jacuzzi. I have bad knees and was feeling it this morning in particular. I could barely bend my knees after playing pickleball the day before. I plunged in the cold water three different times and instantly felt relief! My knees were back in bending order. After soaking in heat and cold for 20 minutes we were called to our respective tables. These are covered in thick slippery plastic. The Korean ladies wear their undies while scrubbing your entire body, including head. Your entire lymphatic system comes alive. But even more impressive is how much DEAD skin comes off your body. It's a lot! For 20-30 minutes they scrub you several times over to make sure they remove every dead skin cell that has accumulated over the years. Afterwards, you shower and return. We opted for the 60 minute massage. It's deep and something uncomfortable but necessary. I felt ALIVE again! My therapist was Anna and she was great! 5 stars all the way! They have a dry sauna, steam sauna, Himalayan salt room and relaxation area. I would plan to arrive one hour before your treatments so you get the most of all services included.

Fantastic place to unwind, relax, shed some old skin! But don’t compare it to other experiences! This Korean style, not American style spa. But if you get comfortable with a few things, you’ll LOVE it!! 1. You’ll be naked with other women. It’s normal, natural, and comfortable here. 2. The scrub is brisk and invigorating. It’s not an American squishy massage either! If you want your scrub or massage softer, gentler, they will adjust - just SPEAK UP during the treatment instead of suffering in silence then leaving a bad review like we American ladies tend to do. 3. Open your mind, and if you want an adjustment for gentler touch in scrub or massage, open your mouth! In over 10 years of visiting I can tell you the staff will adjust if you ask clearly and openly! And if you open yourself to try it the Korean way, with the more vigorous style, you might love it more and more each visit like I did. I love how they wash my hair at the end on the table! I’ve been going here for years, have always loved the fresh soft skin and relaxing reset at this inexpensive clean simple spa. It’s been fun to drop into a pocket of Korean culture, too! And for such a reasonable price. Don’t resist trying this place!

I’ve been coming to Aqua Day Spa in San Diego for years, and it has never failed to impress me. Even though it’s changed a bit over the years (probably due to inflation), the vibe has always stayed the same peaceful, relaxing, and worth every visit. I do miss the warm tea, fresh fruit, and cookies they used to serve, but the service here remains absolutely top-notch. The staff truly work hard and provide amazing care. You just can’t beat an ice cucumber facial followed by a warm milk bath after a long day it’s pure bliss. It’s no surprise so many nurses and busy professionals come here to recharge. I don’t live in California anymore, but every time I visit, I make it a point to stop at Aqua Day Spa. I hope this review helps someone decide to treat themselves you won’t regret it!

The spa facility itself is nice enough, although it would be good to have hooks for towels. However, words cannot describe my experience of receiving a scrub and oil massage from ANNA. I have received massages from all over the world and I prefer a deep massage. What I experienced was a violent angry massage from a person who gave off the energy of rushing through it to just to get it done. I was left not only feeling like a piece of meat.. But a violated piece of meat, having my limbs thrown around without even a thought of being respectful caring or kind. I told her my elbow was injured and requested her to be gentle.. I don't think she understood English because she treated me like a soldier would treat a prisoner.. I know I should have left.. But I thought it can only get better. My facial was so obnoxious I started laughing and fully expected candid camera to reveal themselves. My facial experience can only be described as how a dirty sink must feel like when it it scrubbed clean.. Or how a 2 year old would give you a facial... Very fast very vigorous and possibly violated every rule in cosmetology school. As I lay there.. (Ok at this point I was at fault for not stopping the obvious lack of skill) So as I lay there I had visions of how victims that have been violated must feel... I am not talking about the fact that I was being scrubbed everywhere... But the callous disregard for me as a human being. In addition to sniffing and coughing on me.. Her stomach flesh was rubbing on my arms as she did her magic😱.. Chatting in the scrub room amongst the practitioners is not good etiquette .. But quite common unfortunately . At the end of the nightmare she told me to shower and then she proceeded to strip naked and shower at the table😱😱😱. I felt like I needed therapy after all that. On my way out I informed the young lady at the front desk and she did not seem to be concerned at all. There is a sign at the door that relates to Healing Touch... Of which I am a certified practitioner. It was a joke because what I experienced was not kind or respectful. In my opinion ANNA should not be allowed to touch another human being .. EVER! I was checking the spa out because my co workers and I were looking for a fun spa experience which would have brought in lots of business.. But I cannot subject anyone else to that treatment ... Hopefully it was only ANNA thatch was so bad.. But I cannot take the chance on all my...

I have NEVER in my life felt more violated than at Aqua Day Spa. My girlfriends invited me to an impromptu girls day at a local day spa and went here after raving reviews from a friend. The people at the front were pushy from the start and wanted us to hurry up and pay them. I wanted the 90 min scrub and oil treatment for 90 minutes which was $110 plus the Gold facial treatment which is another $20. They only charged me $110. I pointed out the error and asked if I could just pay the difference in cash as I had put the $110 on my card. They said yes and I handed the girl a $20 bill.

We go in the back and get ready for our treatments. While we are enjoying the amenities before our service they pull us out of the steam room and tell me that I owe them $20 that I never paid them the additional $20. I said I most certainly did. I was the one to point out their error and handed them a $20 bill. She proceeds to tell me that the man after me paid the $20 for his service, I never paid them. She said they counted all of their money and it was short the $20 AND reviewed their surveillance camera and I didn't pay them.

I demanded that they show me the footage. They DON'T KNOW HOW TO OPERATE IT SO CLEARLY THEY HAD NOT REVIEWED IT! After waiting 10 minutes for them to figure it out there it is! Me HANDING THE LADY A $20 BILL!!!!!!! Are you out of your minds?! Falsely accusing someone of basically stealing AND lying that you already reviewed tape and balanced your cash?!?! To make matters worse I wanted my money back and to put my clothes on. They kept TOUCHING ME and trying to apologize and get me to stay. THEY WOULDN'T LET ME GET DRESSED. I had to threaten to call the police and force my way pass them and lock myself in the bathroom to put my clothes back on.

I hope $20 was worth of of this to you!!! I have NEVER treated anyone with the lack of respect and decency like you guys did today. I will tell everyone I know about this horrible experience and report your business as well. That lady should be fired for being an unethical employee. She lied about everything! You're going to accuse someone of something you better have your facts lined up. So instead of relaxing I am more angry and tense than I've been in a long time and had a full blown panic attack after my personal space was...

I would come here for the jimjilbang and body scrub experience. This rating was purely for my 1 hour acupressure with coconut oil. They have you fill out a piece of paper to see which area you'd like to focus on and ignore. My lady was so rushed to get situated that she ended up touching the areas I clearly put I didn't want, having to explain it several times. She then proceeded to ask why I'm so tense - answering that I'm working too much lately. She had the audacity to ask if I make so much money?! I intentionally didn't respond and she asked AGAIN! Her: "Did you not hear me?" Me: "No. I did. But I didn't answer because that's never something you ask a client. That was crossing a hard boundary. She then said her son went to see a doctor for similar issues to get on acupuncture and exercise, recommending I do the same. I DIDN'T come here to be told I need to be active! Very inappropriate. I had a super long day and wanted to relax! What bothered me was they charge nearly double the amount and the majority of the time she massaged me WITH THE SHEET ON! I barely got an oil massage AND the facial part felt so rushed and sloppy when applying the wet towel. When I got turned over, I didn't even get massaged on my feet, calves or hands the way I usually do in other places. I told her that hands are OK from the beginning and never got that massaged. Lastly, she finished abruptly and didn't give me time to put on my robe / get my things. She was in the room the whole time and it felt invasive. I sorely lament having spent $110 for a massage here when SO many other places are top tier for $60. I truly thought paying more was going to override everything else but it ended up being very uncomfortable & invasive on various levels. I wish I would have chosen the scrub - this was absolutely not worth the...
