Balboa Park Miniature Railroad — Attraction in San Diego

The Balboa Park Railroad is located in San Diego right near the Zoo entrance. The Balboa Park Railroad is a miniature train small enough for the kids and large enough for the adults to ride also.

The train ride is about 3 minutes long and takes you around 4 acres of beautiful balboa park and goes through a tunnel which was the kids favorite part of the ride. Your family will surely enjoy this experience !

Meh… $4.50 per person for a less than five minute ride. Required to pay for anyone over age one, but also if they are under age five they have to have an adult over 18 with them (also requiring a ticket). Feels a little redundant/silly. But whatever. The ride was nothing special — lots of dying and unkempt landscape to look at if you are into that. A handful of animal statues, but otherwise not much to look at. Located in Balboa Park between the San Diego Zoo and the Balboa Park Carousel, this miniature train ride is a kid’s dream come true. My grandson was so excited when he walked up and saw what we were going to ride. Kids five and under must have an adult riding with them. Tickets are $4 each person for one ride as of April 12, 2024.
