the person accompanying the child should not pay! I am a parent and I do not ride the carousel, I stand next to my 2.5 year old child and insure him so that he does not fall, I do not sit on the carousel, I stand on my two feet and I, a parent, should pay money for this? The carousel and its potential clients are children, I cannot leave my child alone on the carousel, accordingly, I am obliged to stand on the carousel next to the child, I am doing work, and not enjoying riding the carousel! I ask for my money back! I did not sit on the animals that were in this carousel and did not take anyone's place. Were such rules established by the controllers or the management of the park? because I ride in Belmont Park with a child, as an accompanying person and I do not pay money! I also rode the same carousel in Village Park and I, too, as an accompanying person, do not pay for the carousel. In addition, instead of 10 minutes, the carousel only rotated for 5 minutes or even less the person accompanying the child should not pay! in addition, the controller said that the animals in the carousel would move up and down, but this is not true, the first row of animals on the carousel does not move at all, he should have known this. Then there was another outrageous situation, when a parent went with two children to this carousel to insure their children, and the controller made the second parent go too, so that the second parent would also pay money. As a result, they left this carousel and returned their money, which I should...
Read moreOne of, if not THE best carousel we've ever been on! The animals and carousel have been very recently refurbished (for a small fortune!) and it SURE shows! It's a gorgeous and yet functional work of art! It's one of the few that really goes fast enough AND it actually still has a functioning "brass ring game" (the origin of the original idiomatic expression)! 😍 I remember riding it as a kid and the day I was finally old enough and tall enough to grab a ring was like a "rite of passage" for me! 🥰 They also still have the original mechanical musical organ that plays from punched rolls (!), but it obviously needs some work as well to restore it as many stops are now missing/not working, but it's still WAY better than the recorded Star Wars and other movie themes that they also play. :-/ They are going to close it again soon to do yet more work on it to restore the building and bring it back to its earlier look. If you have kids and you can experience it before it closes later this fall, don't miss it! Also, the miniature railroad next door...
Read moreBest carousel I've ever ridden (have young kids and ride a lot). What makes it so special: Beautifully painted animals inc. toads, roosters, tiger, giraffe Music is not a recording, but played live from an old fashioned machine inside the carousel. You can see the drums beating as you go round. Old fashioned brass ring game. Makes the ride fun for adults. Big kids, teens love it too. You don't need a special ticket, just sit on one of the outer animals (they don't go up and down, but it's worth it to play the game) The ride is long, and fast at certain points.
It really immerses you in its old fashioned world. Beautiful experience.
Parking is easy at 3:30-4pm on a Sunday afternoon, which is when...
