We are visiting our children from out-of-state and and wanted a place to practice pickleball drills. We Googled “pickleball courts near me.” This park presented itself and seemed promising! However, once we arrived, we discovered that these are not PB courts. None of the tennis courts were lined for PB either. The courts were empty so we rallied for a bit. However, there was a fine layer of sand coating the ball; clothing and some debris littered the ground. There were also unhoused citizens living up against the fence. My children love it because they are young and know no better but as a parent, I'm concerned about the broken park benches, the trash from homeless people and just careless people in general, the bathrooms at the rec center are constantly riddled with junkies and smell horrible. I found sanitary napkins under the slides where kids play. This place needs upkeep, and something has to be done about the growing homelessness...
