Gopher City Dog Park — Attraction in San Diego

Maybe Los Angeles spoiled me but these San Diego enclosed dog parks are just… well. I’ll let you see for yourself. I will have to say, despite the small scale of this park it’s pretty well maintained and provides plenty of shade. No benches but I’m not the type of dog dad that just let’s their dog off leash and expects them to entertain themselves. With no one at the park it definitely makes for a lot of running space but I can imagine just 3-4 dogs would make this place extremely crammed by all. I see that other reviews mentions the outside environment but that’s nor here nor there. I am specially rating and referencing the dog area. Since there are limited options in the area I’d have to say this is all we get here. So yeah… this...

I don’t think this is an actual dog park, the fencing is too low, so it is not safe. I stopped going to Colina del Sol park because my dog’s kept getting fleas. I think it has to do with the overpopulation of the ground squirrels. It’s such a shame because it’s one of the few green spaces in the neighborhood and pretty park. Does not appear to be an official City maintained dog park. Just a small fenced area with weeds and hazards for the dogs. I suggest to write to District 9 council member Sean Elo-Rivera to promote the addition of a true off leash dog park here at Colina...
