Happytime Tea — Restaurant in San Diego

Stopped in for a beverage yesterday with my wife. We asked the lady at the counter if it was okay for us to walk our dog onto the patio. The lady said it was okay. My wife walked out of the shop to go get our dog. A man and a woman were talking in front of the shop in their language. As I finished paying, I walked outside and the man was telling my wife no dogs allowed. We told him the lady inside said it was okay to bring him in the patio. He said it was fine then. When we sat down, we noticed the man and woman sit down on the patio as well.

My wife asked the man if he was the owner or a customer. He said he was the manager. She told him it was very rude the way he confronted her. There was not another entrance to the patio so the only way to get to it was through the front door. It was unprofessional and not a pleasant experience. Aside from the experience, the banana boba drink I got was good but the matcha boba tea was watered down. It had a lot of boba which was nice but the tea itself...

Happytime Tea is a little gem tucked into this plaza. It has a nice ambience, is very spacious and looks good for hosting small parties and events.

When it comes to the menu, I've tried an assortment of drinks including the Vietnamese iced coffee and Thai iced tea. They're both very flavorful and the coffee hits with a jolt of energy (it's potent). It's also family owned. A fact that gives both it's drinks and meals their own unique, desired and consistent tastes.

All in all, the location is easily accessible with ground-level...

Since this is a new joint I thought I'd trip over and investigate... The woman behind the counter was nice but gave a very puzzling explanation as to why I couldn't get a smoothie with just Durian in it, for some reason the owner thinks it doesn't taste right (???) so the only option is an Avocado/Durian mix, which doesn't sound appealing to me. I passed in favor of just Avocado. It was really good, but you're forced into buying a large pint size... for $7.50, which is a bit glass size. A bit much, IMO.
