I'm not sure how this place has four stars but I'm sure the reviews are fake of some sort. I came here the day after Christmas with my parents and fiancé to not only have Dim Sim but to scope out the place for my future engagement banquet. Let's say there's lack to zero service and everything was very slow. ALL servers would point and tell you to ask someone else for help. The host would also tell you to ask the servers and not ask them for help. You need water? Better wait 40 minutes. Need a refill on your tea? Good luck waving someone down. I was very disappointed and I can't imagine hosting a wedding, engagement, or any big party you may have here if they can't even have enough servers on a Monday morning.
Don't even get me started on the food, the dim sum here is not worth it. It tasted old and soggy. They didn't have all the items on the menu and kept pointing from one cart to another if you wanted something. There was also only one lady pushing the carts so I felt really bad for her. You also couldn't order anything a la carte from the servers off their dim sum menu, the servers would tell you to wait for the cart. So we didn't get all the dim sum items that we wanted, it felt like a whole mission to just eat here.
Overall, I was very disappointed with the quality of service and food here. A lot of people that worked here gave off the "that's not part of my job description so I can't help you" vibe. Those that are helpful are just running around frantic. I hope they fix their service because it's going to push a lot of business away, especially when it's someone who came to basically see if they want to host their engagement...

With its all-day dim sum menu and a dinner selection reminiscent of top-notch Cantonese restaurants in LA, it's a culinary haven for lovers of authentic Chinese cuisine.
Upon stepping into the spacious restaurant, capable of accommodating anywhere from 200 to 300 guests, one immediately senses the lively atmosphere. During our visit on a bustling weeknight, the venue was abuzz with patrons, and the air was filled with the rhythmic beats of a lion dance, adding to the festive ambiance of Chinese New Year celebrations.
Our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. We indulged in classic Cantonese dishes, such as the succulent pork chop in Peking sauce, the tender beef filet mignon with a kick of black pepper, and the delightful seafood tofu in a flavorful sauce. Each dish surpassed expectations, satisfying even the most discerning palate.
Service at Diamond Palace was prompt and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was seamless from start to finish. Additionally, ample parking made it convenient for diners to enjoy their meal without the hassle of searching for a spot.
In conclusion, Diamond Palace stands out as a premier destination for dim sum and Cantonese cuisine in San Diego. Whether you're craving traditional dim sum delicacies or hearty Cantonese fare, this restaurant delivers on both taste and ambiance, making it a must-visit for locals and...
Read moreVisited this place on a Monday morning, and I had made a reservation for 3 at 10am, right at opening. There were two other tables occupied with patrons. We got cart service from a very kind lady, and some dim sum dishes were not ready yet. We did not have to wait long at all for our requests and they brought our requests straight to our table. We spent an hour here. The ambiance was nice and clean with a lot of tables for group dining. It's a large space for a party.
I was super excited to try the food because I don't get to eat dim sum often. I especially enjoyed the stewed tripe, spare ribs in black bean sauce, and chicken feet. Their chili oil was delicious, I ate it with everything. I don't really understand the pricing for the dim sum. There were "A" "B" "C" "D" and "Special" sizes with different prices, but I didnt know which dishes we ordered were how much. Because quality dim sum is not common in this neighborhood and the fact that this restaurant is right down the street from my house, the value is decent. I just think their entrees are super expensive. $22 for beef fried rice, which my brother ate most of during our time there!?...pass.
There was one older employee who kept creeping around table and standing in spaces awkwardly close to our table. It was no big deal, kind of comical. There was Xmas music playing softly near the kitchen. Their hot Jasmine tea was delicious.
I will definitely be coming here again, I look forward to the next time I...
