Customer service is the driving force behind successful businesses. Everybody that walks through the front doors of an establishment is entitled to the same treatment as everyone that walks through those doors. In other words everyone should be treated better than the owner himself or herself. Treatment we received was not only biased and discriminatory it was outright disrespectful and it needs to be addressed. The fact that ownership is aware of these problems and doing absolutely nothing to fix it is what the law community calls deliberate indifference.. just these reviews alone allow someone to bring a case against crunch fitness for allowing mistreatment of the customers the reason I joined crunch fitness was the nature and the nice people at the Fletcher parkway location also El cajon, Pacific Beach, and even mission valley of all the other places I've been to I've never dealt with what I dealt with at the Serra Mesa location. It's truly sad that this is 2022 and we still have people that's in customer service who feels as though that the customer serves them. The owner or manager or whoever needs to grow a pair and deal with this situation it's truly sad that your employee gets this many negative reviews and you do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!! They will make sure to squeeze you for an extra month, terrible business practice in my opinion. Personally, after 2 years of membership I decided to cancel. The only reason I continued to go here was because of certain staff/training members who are incredible at their job and great to work with ie. Toya and Jason. However, the management is rude and certainly not transparent about the "rules". The gym itself is generally pretty run down. During the summer the AC would go out all the time, and when I would turn fans on in the open floor room. The managing staff would turn them off "Too many fans being used". The water caused a build up of film in my hydro flask and there was mold the next day. I tested their water filter multiple times to the same effect. When I complained, I was told "we are getting a new one soon". Yet to see that happen! The locker-room is small and generally smells awful. They have all of these services they market, but they cost extra. The bands used to be behind the counter and you could ask and use. Got my membership, spend about 2 hours there trying to see my strong points and weak points. Angela was a great welcoming face as I came in, helped me out with starting a membership, big help since I'm basically starting from square one. Maxed out my bench at 280 back in high-school and now I can barely lift at all, felt embarrassing walking in there but dosen't seem like people judge you one bit, nice environment. Steve was also very welcoming, I don't know the new tech on certain things and he was happy to help which man to man made me feel good so thank you Steve. A great welcoming to what I hope will be a good way to get rid of negative energy and increase my overall health.
