Update 6/19/2023: They reached out to me after posting my review and i have called them twice with no response back over the course of 3 weeks. Last person i spoke woth was Vinnie. Was willing to give them a chance but due to their lack of communication, im changing my review from two stars to one. Poor customer service is just not acceptable.
Initial review: I really wanted to like this place, especially since I am within walking distance to the establishment, however the service was degrading and insulting. I made an appointment for 530pm on a Tuesday or Wednesday, I believe, showed up on time but had to wait 30 min to get seated in a pedicure chair. All I was getting was a pedicure, btw. And then I had to wait another 15- 20 min for them to start my water. In situations like these, I observe before I rush to judge the situation, but as the only african american woman in the room, it is not a good look to be treated differently than everyone else. But I digress, as i sat there in the chair waiting, my water wasn't started, I was not offered any beverages (and this is something they have a laminated menu to offer customers) and after the pedicure was done I waited an additional 20 min for someone to assist me out of the chair with shoes (something they did for every woman that was in there) and my technician told me I had to do it myself. Even the woman who sat next to me, who arrived after I did and also received a pedicure, was serviced and out the door 30 min before I left. I did call this behavior and interactions out to the woman at the desk. Received an apology, but nothing else. I never raised my voice but calmly explained my dissatisfaction with the service and definitely let her know this was not acceptable, especially for someone who is a first-time customer. While the pedicure and establishment in terms of decor and massage chairs was very much to my liking, I prefer to go somewhere where my patronage is appreciated or at least respected. I much prefer to give positive reviews than negative ones but will be honest and as fair as I can be from my perspective.    Read moreVery very disappointed by Kensington Nails. This was my favorite nail spot, they usually do a great job but I was highly disappointed by my recent experience. It hadnât even been a week since I got my nails done and theyâve already chipped this bad. I know they have a policy that you can come back within 7 days to get them fixed but I was unfortunately out of town and was not able to do so. I realized pretty soon Lisa did not put any top coat on my nails at all. May be an honest mistake and I am understanding but she did not seem like she cared at all during the process. I even tipped her $15 although I was not satisfied just because I can understand how hard nail techs work. I do recommend Kathleen! She does great work, very neat and always lasts me over 2 months if you are considering this place. I may try again, but I hope they make some...

I had expressed to the nail technician that the application of the hard gel was extremely thick (I canât remember his name and when I politely called to ask, they wouldnât give me his name, saying they didnât rememberâŚwhich is interesting bc they always have before) anyway, he became VISIBLY upset with me and only spoke in his native language. The salon owner came over and I asked her âis he really upset that I expressed my opinionâ, She said no, but energy and facial expressions donât lie no matter what language you speak⌠and then she took over...
