Not happy with instructions to get on base. Spent 20 minutes getting registered as authorize patron to drive on. Further website instructions state that if other guests are listed with the pro-shop, then if we ride together we can get on base. This is not the case as we were told every member needed a pass, which is not possible to get on the weekend. Option 1 to me means I'm the authorized person to drive on. When I called the pro-shop they said instructions were clear. This is obviously not the case. On a positive note VRC folk were very friendly and made getting a pass very easy.

Read moreA beautiful and functional venue for military retirements and other events.
As a photographer specializing in military ceremonies, I’ve had the honor of capturing several events on base and the Miramar Memorial Golf Course is one of my favorite locations for a Marine Corps retirement. The shaded outdoor ceremony area offers relief from the sun and a picture-perfect backdrop of the green course.
One of the biggest perks? The reception space is right next door, a short walk from the ceremony site, making transitions easy for guests. The indoor hall is spacious, air conditioned, and perfect for celebrating with food, speeches, and slideshows.
There is ample parking close to the venue and the setup makes it easy for older guests or those with limited mobility to access both the ceremony and reception areas without hassle.
If you are planning a USMC retirement, promotion, or other formal event on...
Read morePutting range is great, driving range is fair. The course itself has a decent layout although the fairways are garbage and God forbid you hit your ball in the rough. You’ll never find your ball. It’s so ridiculous unkept. And oh my gosh I hit one into the trap(had two feet of standing water in it)The saving grace of this course is the greens. They are literally the nicest part of this course, the rest of it needs to be staffed with more qualified lawn maintenance crew. They seem very unhappy or unmotivated. I greeted a couple of them with a smile and they had a very unhappy demeanor to them. Too bad. It’s that kind of demeanor that most likely carries on to how they perform in taking care of this course. As far as military courses go, next time I’ll stick to Pendleton or Coronado. Much better...
