I am highly upset and disappointed with my local Northgate. I always shop there to support local business especially right now during the COVID pandemic. According to the store website the store closes at 9PM PST. I tried calling around on 05/05/2020 at 8:30 pm and 8:45 pm to confirm the hours and nobody answered and the recording stated to call back during regular business hours. I decided to go based off the store website hours. I arrived to the store on 05/05/2020 at 8:50pm, and the gentleman at the door stated that the store was closed in a rude and indifferent tone and confirmed the store indeed closed at 9:00pm. The gentleman also stated that there was only 5 min left till 9:00pm. I am extremely surprised and again deeply disappointed and don’t feel supported during this pandemic by my local Northgate. I expect for whoever is reading this message to identify who was the gentleman that denied my entrance to the store and for him to be trained on customer service and not be allowed to be the front face of the store. I did not make a scene or complained at the time because I needed to find another store to buy what I needed at the time. I really hope my message can serve as a example to never occur again especially during a pandemic. Or if your store closes earlier then update your website. I expect a call or email back from the company acknowledging that this message was received. I will not visit or purchase from this store or any other Northgate market and will recommend my friends and family to shop elsewhere due to this incident until somebody from the company acknowledges this...
Read moreI'm so upset at this particular store. I have been using Samsung pay for about 2 years now and everywhere I see verifone machines, I pay with my phone. I understand sometimes systems are not working. This evening on February 1, 2018 around 7:30 pm I went to Northgate with my mom who needed groceries also. She was with one cashier and I was with other. I got rang up first and tried paying with my phone. Machine beeped and she stopped transaction and said it was not working there and I said fine and pulled out some cash. Went with my mom who was getting rung up also. She could not find her card so I offered to pay. I pulled my phone out again and the machine beeped. Cashier asked for my ID. I'd show her my ID and said she could not take the payment because my phone did not show my name. She called the manager which was the same cashier who told me the system was not working. I showhed her on my mobile banking app that both transactions had posted. She refunded money and asked us for different payment option. By that time my mom had found her card and just let her pay for it. Samsung pay, Android pay, or Apple pay are great ways of paying faster and feel your protected. Please Northgate Corp! Show your people how technology works or if your not willing to use that system get the machines out of your stores. I will not be shipping at Northgate for a while. This really, really...
Read moreAt this point it's just straight up greed. Bread is a staple food of society. Especially in this neighborhood. A company's level of greed can be based on the price of bread alone. It wasn't long ago that you could buy 4 French Bread (Bolillos) for 1.00, large ones at that. Today I walked in and paid 2 French Bread rolls for not only 1.00 but at 20% to 25% smaller. Add injury to insult now they have 3 "mini" French breads no bigger than a person's fist for .99 cents (1.00). There may be inflation but it's not 100% inflation. You can't take piece of bread sold at .25 cents and now it's at .50 and not think it's not a 100% increase! I noted the slow increase to 3 for a dollar and suddenly 2 for a dollar. That's not inflation. that's greed. Raise prices on alcohol and other non-essential foods, but raising bread 100% and claiming it's inflation? No that's greed attacking the core staple food for everyone. Been in this neighborhood for 20 years and now I will just go elsewhere. Nobody may read this, and likely nobody will care, but people need to know the math to understand that raising something as cheap as a bread by these amounts doesn't not equate to the belief it's "inflation". It's...
