Iâve only been here once but itâs your basic Pilates studio. Large, clean, sterile with little to no color or spice. I love Pilates and do it 2-3 times a week at home and sometimes on the road when Iâm constantly traveling. I have been to various chains and am a little picky about the classes and teacher preferences so itâs always a hit or miss till you find the one. This is real Pilates not Lagree.
The pros of the class is it was mostly reformer based. I definitely prefer full reformer classes which this was, I donât really enjoy the ones where youâre up pulling the wall spring things etc. I like that we did side line work which is fairly rare in a class. Itâs clean and large. The music was good. Some studios almost put me to sleep w the elevator music, no music, or only Ariana grande.
I am a yapper but I have a hard time with teachers who talk nonstop with instruction. I get lost on what weâre supposed to do or feel. Maybe this class does the same thing every time so people there knew what they were walking into and had the muscle memory already but I felt super bored in the first five minutes and lost my focus after so many bridges crunches etc. It wasnât fun and Pilates usually is. I was looking for the clock and there wasnât one on the wall⌠I wonder why. The teacher knew I had never been there before but was more in tune with the regulars. So far I loved Vida Pilates UC if youâre looking for...
Read moreIâve been coming to Powerhouse for a little over a year and it has been consistently my favorite studio! Before i started my pilates journey, I did try out another pilates studio prior to Powerhouse but it discouraged me a lot and I didnât feel like I felt welcomed nor given clear instructions on a first time newbie. But once I made the switch to Powerhouse I was blown away by every instructor taking the care and time to really help you succeed! Iâve taken all three levels of their classes: Initiate, Acquire and Accelerate! All classes are challenging in their own ways but definitely are different in terms of speed and pacing. I have to definitely give a shoutout to Kayla who has been an amazing instructor! I look forward to her acquire classes on Wednesday evenings; she really comes up with unique movements that push your body to different limits. I love coming to class at Powerhouse! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try out pilates for their first time or even a seasoned pilates veteran! Itâs such an inclusive space where everyone truly...
Read moreThis is such an excellent pilates studio! The classes are fun and challenging, the instructors are friendly and give great directions, the studio is very clean and has lots of equipment. The pricing is reasonable, scheduling is easy, and there are a variety of levels available. I've only been to initiate level classes personally, but they are so much fun and plenty challenging; the instructors offer modifications so you can tailor the exercises exactly to your needs, and they always check in about any potential injuries. Be aware that they require grippy socks, but they have a bunch of cute ones you can buy if you forget! Seriously, they are the...
