Serra Mesa Recreation Center — Attraction in San Diego

To all in the community and all the members that stay in Serra Mesa and all visitors, I would like to state that I had the pleasure of coming out to the filed and watching those come together has one like a community should, just being able to see the families, moms and dads having fun with there love ones, also those that work hard to make this place what it is, I'm sure that it is much appreciated in the eyes of many, so from mine to yours and all the other...

Nice neighborhood rec center. There are a good variety of sports, community activities, etc… here. If you include the next door joint use park at wedgeforth elementary, there is a lot of open space to run around, etc…

Two draw backs: playground and facilities are a bit run down, could use some deferred maintenance catch up. Also, there are frequently unhoused folks using the park as a camping place, which can be a problem in the mornings if there are not other...

There are two playgrounds (they're supposed to be split by age, under 5 and over 5, but I think they're pretty fluid) which are tucked back far away from the road. There is a fence most of the way around it. Lots of sand, swings, and slides. The "big kid" section has some really cool climbing challenges. There's also plenty of grass and shade.
