I had a Brightening facial with Noura on my first visit to Skin Habit. I agree with another reviewer that she is very aggressive with her extractions. She left a huge hyperpigmentation mark from this on my forehead and I've never had issues with this before, despite numerous facials. She also didn't really listen to me... I told her that all oil cleansers I've used in the past have dried out my skin which is why I don't use them and only do 1-step cleansing. However, she disregarded my knowledge of my own skin, and insisted I wouldn't have a problem with their oil-based cleansers and that all her clients were happy with her recommendations. It was the worst cleanser yet... Partially my fault for listening to her. I returned it but was only able to get store credit.
On the plus side, besides the hyperpigmentation mark (which I hope resolves soon) my skin looked good the next day, about as good as most of the other facials I've had. She also recommended I use sunscreen multiple times a day, as the number one step to prevent hyperpigmentation on darker skin, which I appreciated.
Overall, I didn't get the feeling she was knowledgeable of a lot of different skin types and is very by the book with her recommendations. I might try Skin Habit again due to other positive reviews but would probably try out a different...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGot my first facial ever done here, the Hydrate + Calm one with Noura. I told her going in that I have a very minimal skincare routine, have combination skin that doesn't cause too many problems and is somewhat sensitive, referencing that it doesn't respond well to harsh treatments. My experience during the facial was relaxing, minus the extractions. Unfortunately afterwards, I realized that my extractions were done too harshly. My skin wasn't bad to begin with, any acne I occasionally get resolves itself without hyperpigmentation (I am medium to dark skin tone). More than a week after my facial, I still had severe dark marks all over my forehead and cheeks from the extractions. My skin treatment plan didn't align to my skin at all (was way too aggressive), and I had trouble getting clarification from Noura afterward. Ultimately I was connected to Gia who did a good job updating my skin treatment plan and offering for me to come back in for her to take another look (I was out of town so didn't take her up on this). Still, this all shouldn't have happened to begin with and I spent over $100 on a facial that I now wish I had never gotten. I was excited about this place and wanted to love it, but did not have a good experience and probably won't get another facial for a long time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy facial was wonderful. Iām pretty inquisitive so I asked my esthetician a lot of questions about what she was doing and why and she happily answered everything. I asked why they donāt do steam and she explained that it can be harsh which makes sense. Hot water is pretty drying when you think about it. I thought Iād miss the steam but I didnāt. Layer upon layer of things there were so many sensations that constantly left me wondering what was next: smooth, creamy, tingling, then hot soothing wash cloths, freezing refreshing metal āCryoā tool followed by more hot wash cloths. I loved every second of it! It wasnāt ārelaxingā in the traditional sense (no calming music, or fragrances and some outside chatter from the staff at the desk) but that didnāt matter once I saw how glowing my skin was after and still into the next day. I clearly need these more often. I loved that she took the time to help me pick out a product afterwards and explained everything very well. Sad sheās leaving but Iām sure my next experience will be just as good. At $98 for 50 min itās not cheap but I can say itās...
