The Taco Stand: Where Burrito Dreams Come True! Ladies and gentlemen, gather 'round because I have discovered the Holy Grail of burritos in all of San Diego! The Taco Stand is not just a taco stand; it's a burrito utopia where all your culinary dreams come true. Trust me, I've tried every burrito place in town, and this is the one that has truly mastered the art of the California burrito.

First of all, let's talk meat. Their carne asada is so tender and flavorful, it's like it went to a spa day before joining the party in your burrito. And those fries? Crispy in all the right places, adding that perfect crunch with every bite. Cheese lovers, rejoice! The cheese is melted to gooey perfection, wrapping everything in a deliciously warm embrace.

But wait, there's more! The tortillas are so good they could win a beauty pageant. And don’t even get me started on the sauces. Taco Stand is sauce nation! They've got a selection of sauces that will make your taste buds do the cha-cha. Seriously, these sauces are the icing on the cake of an already glorious burrito.

I've tasted all the burritos here, and let me tell you, the California Burrito with carne asada is my number one. But the shrimp and steak burritos? Also to die for! This place is not just serving food; they're serving life-changing experiences wrapped in tortillas.

The staff? Friendlier than your grandma on Christmas morning. The food? The best you’ll ever have in your lifetime. So stop searching, stop scrolling, and get yourself to The Taco Stand. Your new favorite burrito...

First to note before going to this place is that you will be hard pressed to find parking at anytime of day. Might take a while to find a spot.

I went here around 130 pm on a Tuesday and there was no wait. I placed a large order so I was able to observe that most regular orders (2 tacos or something similar in portion) were fulfilled within 5-10 minutes.

We were able to sit inside.

I ordered several varieties of tacos to try out. Here are my impressions:

Carne Asada Taco: (3.79) Grilled steak was tender and well grilled. Avocado portion was fresh and we'll portioned with a good bit of cilanto thrown in.

Baja Taco: (2.99) Battered Swai. Not a big fan of this. The fried batter overwhelmed the swai which is a delicate and to be honest a tasteless fish. Not recommended.

Pescado: (3.69) This grilled fish taco was way better. Fish fillet was firm fleshed and salted perfectly.

Camaron: (3.79) Standard 40-60 sized shrimp. Well grilled, but the chipotle sauce seems to dominate the taco.

Sonora Taco: (4.89) Its ok. The whole beans insise the taco was different, but they mash well inside your mouth. Flour tortilla.

California burrito: (8.59) If you like having lot of starch then this is for you. French fries were a little to well for my taste. Has a good quantity of that excellent carne asada. The rest of the filling ingredients were a little sparse though.

You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu , but the ones that stood out to me were the carne asada tacos and the grilles fish taco. Would visit these again...

Fresh, homemade corn tortillas. Big, thick, warm, tasty, and soaks up all the good juices. Their seafood tacos are REALLY good! Bought the Baja , grilled fish, and grilled shrimp. But the Baja and grilled shrimp were amazing and would get again. Their grilled shrimp was also suppose to be spicy but I didn't feel any heat which was disappointing. The seafood is really fresh while the shrimp has a nice bite to it. Their Al pastor taco is okay. Fell short compared to the seafood tacos. Their fries are AMAZING. Super crispy and fresh. Just get it. The California Burrito is huge, filling, and tasty - I now understand the hype. The flour tortilla is actually really good, chewy and warm with grilled cheese. The fries in the burrito make it amazing. Their Churros are AMAZING. Fresh, warm, and chewy. Would get it again in a heartbeat but a little pricey. Only get 3 Churros in 1 order. They also have a sauce bar that's super organized and are all tasty & fresh. Their chipotle sauce is said to be hot but it didn't seem spicy AT ALL...and this is coming from someone who can only handle mild spice heat lol. But the green Verde sauce was a little too watery.
