Food was excellent, and felt profiled:
I didn't like the way I was served by the cashier woman. Besides tipping her well I would like to share publicly my experience here:
#1 From the 1st minute I walked in with my friend I could feel I was being profiled somehow by her, no words spoken, but the way I was treated at the restaurant was one the rudest ways that I never even experienced in any other country even in Thailand. Dunno by the fact I was with my friend, or if because something personal.
#2 Regardless my compliments, whenever she brought the food to the table even after my "thank you" she even turned her back and speechless. Again I gave her a great tip.
#3 In the end I got 2 containers that were available in the counter for customers to take out 2 of the dishes and she urged to my table and rudely got the containers out and replace with other ones with no explanation why she was doing that and I felt embarrassed between other people watching from other tables. Don't really know why she did that. Even when I questioned why she turned her back and nothing else.
Conclusion: great food, delicious, but I left feeling I was somehow spotted or profiled for no apparent reason. I hope this isn't the norm with customers here, but I will keep coming for the good food you guys provide to us.
P.S. for the owner: is this the norm when it comes to customer service?
Update, Response to the owner: I came yesterday 02/21/2022 about noonish. Thank you for the reply, I really appreciate the attention. And as a customer and knowing how great and authentic is the food you guys serve, I would be more than happy to offer some suggestions that you might consider in the future: #1 I agree, maybe it was a misunderstanding or communication issue that raised from either of sides. #2 About the containers, if all containers at the shelf are available to pick up, you can let written or explicitly sign which ones are available to be used. (I would love to have known which ones were supposed to be used for my takeout) . #3 I understand that running and working at food business can be stressful at daily basis for workers and I will never judge ur employee for what happened. #4 I will come back to taste more of your great dishes, again I really appreciate the work you guys do here and I'm glad we can build this constructive...
Read moreIf I could give this places 10 stars I would! A-Freaking-Mazing tasting thai food!!!! I have ordered here a couple times: Crispy Pork Belly w/chinese broccoli - spicy, (I didnt ask for it, just came spicy) side pork is cooked perfectly, came with white rice and a delicious fried egg on top, so so so tasty, I LOVED this dish and I'm not a huge fan of pork either. Morning Glory - spicy (came spicy) has thai vegetable morning glory (if u haven't had it, almost like spinach with a thin stalk) stir fried in oyster sauce, came with white rice with a fried egg on top, omg so yummy; Pad Thai with chicken - not spicy, not too sweet, has a wedge of lime, noodles cooked perfectly, green onions, peanuts, bean sprouts, some of the best tasting pad thai I've had in awhile; Yellow Curry with Chicken - slight spice, not too much (came slightly spicy), slightly sweet coconut milk curry with big cuts of carrots, potatoes and of course chicken, I just wanted to drink it, it was so dang good. OH and they have vegetarian style dishes as well!!! I've read a couple of the bad reviews on here, some said there was no taste, they were "Thai themselves and it's not legit"...ummmm not sure if they got the right place....I've been to Thailand several times and this is what the food tastes like...A-Mazing!! Some other people gave low stars for their food being in a plastic container...uh, guess you could hold your hands out and they could put ur food there??? WTH, who cares what kind of container it comes in, or if you're using plastic utensils, if you're that crazy about the environment and what u put in your body, why are you eating out?! Every place also has bad days too, so unfortunately I'm sure anyone who said the food wasnt up to their standards, maybe that was just it. This place is very good, try it for yourself, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. DEFINITELY my new go to Thai spot. SERVICE - A++; BUILDING - Small,...
Read moreUnless you want to ruin all other Thai cuisine for your taste buds, don't go here. This was the best Thai food I have ever had, and I will be chasing that high for a long time, as I don't live in San Diego.
The restaurant is a bit unassuming in appearance, but don't let that fool you. The patio seating is great for the people watching and cool breeze. Their menu is available online as well as hard copies in the restaurant.
We sat down and our waitress was fast and friendly with a genuine smile. We started off with the curry puffs which were a flaky puff pastry fried with yellow curry potatoes inside. The curry was mild, complementing the pastry without overpowering it.
For entrée, my wife went with the chicken pad Thai, ordered as "mild" in the heat department. It was the correct amount of heat. The noodles were cooked perfectly, and the balance of the dish was perfect. Sometimes pad Thai can be greasy, and this was perfect.
And now for the star of the show: Khao Soi. If the perfect dream was manifest as reality, it would be this dish. I went with the shrimp as the protein and this is the way. Every single bite was the taste of creamy coconut, unique curry which can only be described as perfection. I savored every bite and mourned when the meal was over. Days later I'm still thinking of this meal. Please, do yourself a favor and patronize these fine people and reward...
