One day I was driving to the Costco (off of Morena Blvd) after work for some produce. I circled around the parking lot twice and couldn't find a parking spot... I thought to myself "Guess it wasn't mean to be." Fortunately, I live right up the hill so I told myself I'll try again tomorrow. On my half mile drive home I discovered this cute little hidden gem called The Fruit Stand!! I swear my wheels skidded as I pulled into their parking lot.
They had so many fruits, veggies, nuts, homemade goodies, and more... I am SO glad I didn't get a spot at Costco because this place is so much better for fresh produce! I'm hesitate to boast about my favorite find (because I'm afraid they'll all be gone next time I go) but there's this zip lock baggie of dried & seasoned veggies that is to die for. You can distinctly tell there's green beans, carrots, beets, etc. finely sliced & dried with a simple salty seasoning to make you think you're eating potato chips. I AM HOOKED!
So hooked, I'll be back again today for my dried veggie bags before anybody reads...
Read moreWonderful little fruit and vegetable stand with a great selection of herbs, lentils, dried beans, and tortillas in addition to local fresh fruits and vegetables. The prices are great, and the selection really reflects the fact that a lot of it is picked locally. A whole bag of basil, mint, or tarragon for just a dollar or spring green mix, enough for a salad for two for a dollar.
There was a whole bin of little tangelos that were to small to go to a chain store. These strawberries were so type they were bruising on the basket, there was no way these fragrant beauties could have been shipped anywhere. They smelled so good they filled our car with their scent and we devoured them all after our lunch. They were red all the way through, and super juicy and soft.
