This review is for the employee who works at the window blinds and shutter area, as well as, the assistant manager, Bernardi. I came to this store thought I could get some help but I was wrong and left traumatized. I spoke with Will, in the window section, I don’t know if that’s really him but he was a short, Hispanic, tattoos on his arms, gay guy I think. Anyway, I told will that I am planning to get either blinds or shutters for my house but haven’t decided yet. I informed him that I want everything the same color and texture for the blinds in my kitchen and living rooms. Right awahe was very dismissive and not interested in helping me. He told me what kind etc, so I again I told him that I want to replace what my mom got and get multiple blinds that are going to be the same color and texture. He went on and on, asked me if I want with string, so I told him that I wanted a “no string” then he responded, well, everything here is no strings. I was astounded to hear from him because not only he didn’t want to listen but he was extremely rude, dismissive, arrogant and flamboyant. I ignored his remarks since I needed his help so I went on but he continued patronizing me. He told me that it would be special order etc. I said it’s alright. He got up to help another customer and came back to me and continued berating me. He asked me again about the blind so I told him that I already spoke with someone before at the same store but asked me for measurements so that’s why I am there to get quotes. He didn’t want to listen to me instead asking what kind of blind. I told him once more about the same colors and texture then asked him what would be his recommendation and said his “it’s your preference!” I told him that I am just asking about whether it’s a wood, vinyl, for his opinion but he dismissed me. At that point I was already upset and got up from my chair. He told and didn’t even ask me to sit back to my chair. I was infuriated because not only this guy was rude but also patronizing me! I told him I am done and as I walk away, he aggravated me more with his devious , “ hope you have a good day!” I was so upset that I curse at him and called him names. I went to customer service and demanded to speak with the store manager and after few minutes, I spoke with the manager assigned in tiles and window blinds named, Jonathan, who was a short, wears eyeglasses, young Hispanic guy. I explained to Jonathan what happened but I guess they also called, Bernardi, buffed, Caucasian, who had receding hairline, who introduced himself as the store manager. I told Bernardi what happened including the gender of Will but he took it the wrong way, instead, attacking me telling it was irrelevant and wasn’t interested to listen to me. So I continued my story by the end of telling him what happened he told me, “ So how can I help you? I mean I don’t understand what do you want?” He continued, “ well, he asked you to sit down so he can help but you didn’t want , so what now?” I could almost feel I wasn’t welcome in the store and complaints are not welcome over there. I told Bernardi that I am frustrated that I also work in the healthcare but would never treat people like that but he was not interested at all. He just said,” so I don’t think I can help you maybe Jonathan will” and he just walked away from me without any resolution. I asked Jonathan if could get the corporate’s number so I could file a complaint which he provided me. I wasn’t even asking for any free or special treatment but those people need to be scrutinize for their I’ll behavior. I hope the corporate will see this and take matters into...
Read moreGood deals and vast section, much more reasonable than Lowe's which I saw on news is closing stores across country due to loss of market share due to lack of competitive pricing for comparable products. Home Depot always trains employees effectively so when you have any question they are very helpful. Many times I have asked a unique question like regulations / city code requirements for installing something and always get valueable / useful information. Wal-Mart, one of their competitors, never has an answer to even basic questions like "this is in sale and nothing on the shelf is there more in the back?" Typical response, "IDK, check back tomorrow after we restock." I have never had a Wal-Mart employee ever know anything beyond which aisle it may be at or actually one one the floor that could actually help you. Love Home Depot website with DIYS guides on a wife's selection of projects many people need help with like installing a new to toliet or how replace a wall outlet. We need to all consider the long term effect of using our dollar to get a low price at walmart (with little or no customer assistance) or spend a little more and patronize Home Depot with knowlwdgeablet and always willing to help customers. Btw, increasingly when I shop at walmart for various products which need to be purchase monthly like hair gel, facial cleanser, deoterant will week after week be out of stock. Not that I but the same products everyone else does or it's such a great deal... Read that Wal-Mart has an an inventory replacement system which is inefficient and causes warehouses to have an overabundance of one product wasting space in their warehouses while another product isn't ordered at all for months. Don't have an Amazon type system which is efficient but not employee friendly. Many warehouse workers walk an average of 20 miles as they run to get order merchandise throughout one of their 25 acre warehouses . They have time limits for gathering an order regardless if one item is on one side of the warehouse and the next is on the opposite end. As for Home Depot and their inventory and selection - never found them out of a product and they usually have a product from economical up to...
Read moreHello,
I would like to thank and acknowledge your associate, Mallory, who went above &beyond in her excellent customer service, not just once, but twice! We came in Tuesday June 17th, and she patiently listened to what we told her we were looking for, then she didn’t give up until she found it!
We are visiting our adult kids stationed here in the Navy, we travelled in our RV all the way from south Texas, and needed a tabletop propane grill, because of restrictions at our campsite, as our charcoal grill is not allowed.
We left the store excited to have found one of the last few tabletop propane grills, new in the box, that was in our price range,&it was due to Mallory’s diligence, as we had already started to give up, not seeing what we wanted on the display area. Fast forward to this evening, Wednesday, the 18th. I called the store &she happened to answer my call, I was unable to assemble the grill. She quickly put us in touch with Cameron, the manager, whose fast thinking &excellent above &beyond service asked if we could bring the grill back he could switch it out with the same but an assembled one, &had his builder get started on it immediately!
We cannot express in this limited space our sincere gratitude &awe for this level of dedication &service! I myself work retail, and I live by the motto, “ if you can’t find a nice person, be a nice person! “ and your entire staff at this location are very nice, friendly, happy, tuned in to the needs of the customers, and their dedication deserves recognition!
Thank you San Diego Home Depot /Marketplace Ave location for your Texas sized hospitality!
Sincerest regards, Kari and Rob...
