UTC Mall dog park — Attraction in San Diego

The UTC Mall dog park is very good. It's small, but it has a number of good features. It's mostly grassy and it's pretty well design. It has a floral overhang so you can stay out of the sun if you desire. There are usually sweet dogs there and nice people. The only thing that is kind of weird about it is that it only has one door rather than the normal 2 door system so dogs can't run out. The other thing is that it's not really well marked for people to find it does have a flag type sign and some dog paw marks but I have to say I don't think that makes it very clear it's not on the UTC Mall directory. However I'm still giving it five stars. The UTC Mall is a great dog mall and it's filled with tons of great dogs with their owners walking around the mall. The UTC Mall is a great mall. i dont know if the WHOLE park is considered a "dog park" but they do have a gated/fenced section that you can bring your dog OFF leash and let them roam (INSIDE THE GATED AREA ONLY)

The area that is gated is quite small.

Now the rest of the park is HUGE. there's a slight decline headed from the Mall down to the park, but it's a long trip with ample greenery. They have sprinklers so the grass is actually green, and the trees are well trimmed and maintained.

Sometimes you'll hear owls and other birds in the trees above you, especially on a summer day, bring a mat and some food you bought at UTC and...

I wouldn't personally bring my dog to a mall but for those who do, this is a great little dog park to let your pups run around. It's all grass and has small benches near the entrance. It's tucked in behind the food court (you go down the ramp near Starbucks just outside the food court). It's always quiet there, I've seen two dogs there at the most at any given time. You will see people walking by, so this would be a good place to expose your puppy to people without...
