Ugh I don’t want to write this review but feel like I should for future clients. I’ve been coming to bloom for my events for years, maybe once or twice a year. I have challenging curly hair but I’ve always had someone that knew how to blow it out. Few weeks back I went and I was really unimpressed/ upset with my experience. I felt so bad but I was running behind, there is a lot of construction right now. When I arrived my stylist looked really upset with me, I knew I was going to be sitting down for a while so I asked to quickly use the restroom, he visibly rolled his eyes out of frustration. I tried to not think too much about it but he barely spoke to me after that. His first comment was “when was the last time I got my hair cut”, then “have I considered a keratin treatment?” Basically just commented on my drier hair that needed a cut. I didn’t want to argue with him so I just agreed with him I needed a cut, but clearly that wasn’t happening that day. I warned him that since I have curly hair he shouldn’t run his fingers through it once it’s set from the blow dry. He did exactly that, and made my hair frizzier. I told him he probably would have to run a curling iron with it now, and he used a straightener to salvage it a bit. I didn’t voice any complaints to anyone but after the fact I really feel like I was better off just wearing my hair naturally that day instead of being low-key insulted and trying to teach someone how to blow out curly hair. He’s newer on staff, so not sure if you would just be better off going with another stylist with better reviews. Sad part is I actually get compliments on my natural hair daily, so to have him just making snide comments like that, it made me not want...

I have supported Bloom since its soft opening on September 12, 2014. I have been a loyal customer and have come in at least once or twice a week - sometimes three or four times a week, and I have posted positive reviews and comments promoting Bloom on various social media platforms. I have recommended its services to family and friends from the Bay Area to the East Coast, and I have purchased many gift cards and gift sets for holidays, birthdays, and the like.
I have been here well over 100 times and have been happy to support this business... until now.
For the most part, the stylists are absolutely fantastic . They are friendly, talented, hard-working, and professional, and I have received great service and made many happy memories here. (Shoutouts to Ricardo, Jamila, Tianna, Tiffani, Cynthia, Olivia, Diane, Miraj, Lauren, Lyn, Tiffani, Monica, Diane, Ruby, and Alex)
So why the one star review? (This is also the hundredth review.)
Because the owner, Dawn, is DISHONEST!!
Offensive. Dishonest. Unwelcoming. Antagonistic. Unfairly Discriminating. Borderline Abusive. Unprofessional.
On more than one occasion, Dawn has not only been dishonest, but she has also been DISRESPECTFUL. For example, she has used OFFENSIVE language, directed towards me. No customer (especially a loyal, enthusiastic, paying customer) should have to endure this. No person should.
I don't think I have ever been more insulted (to say the least).
This situation is unfortunate because again, the staff here is, for the most part, fantastic; however, given the aforementioned, I neither feel welcome nor safe here.

Read moreI very rarely style my hair and have never colored it. I made an afternoon appointment here for a basic blow dry and style. Weird experience throughout the hour, but my main complaint is my hair smells so burnt even after washing it the next day. She damaged my hair with the heat and post appointment I couldn't stop smelling the burning I realized she didn't use a single heat protecting product as she blow dried and styled my hair with a curling iron. Now my hair is ruined. I would have thought I could trust a professional who does this often to responsibly use heating tools and hair products and not damage my hair. I highly don't recommend...
