Pointers for attire: dress in layers, this is a coastal trail so expect it to be on the cooler side. Wear a hat, it does get bright out there. Bring good trail shoes (doesn’t have to be legit hiking shoes, my Nike pegasus did well).
Overall I rate the hike a 5/5 for the incredible views. The whaler museum on the trail was very interesting as well. Definitely spend 2$ for a park map, it makes things easier.
My boyfriend and I made it through all the trails in the park within 2.5 hours. all the trails except the Whaler Trail were honestly super easy - soft on the footing, pretty flat going out n about. You gain some elevation on the Whaler Trail and there are a lot of rocks to weave through. We ended up going on this trail because while on the North Trail we came across a super mucky spot with yellow jackets all the around - and I did not want to get muck on my shoes or accidentally stung far out into the trails.
I do recommend bringing binoculars if you have them. It makes for a better time if you’re able to view the wildlife.
