First of all, I didn’t want to bring this up, but it’s clear there’s a recurring issue with bills not being matched correctly. In my case, the bill was $30 over. If I hadn’t checked, you would’ve gotten away with it—how many others aren’t catching this? This is unacceptable.
Now, onto the major issue, and frankly, the one that makes my blood boil: when you spend over $100, you supposedly “gift” a treat. I got some sweets, and I thought, wow, that’s nice of them. That was until I got home and saw the box. The original manufacture date and expiration date were WHITED OUT, and a fake expiration date sticker was slapped on it. The item expired in JANUARY 2024! JANUARY! Do you even realize how disgusting this is? It expired almost a YEAR ago!
Why would you even hand this out to customers? Why not THROW IT OUT? What’s the point of such shady, irresponsible behavior? This isn’t just an oversight—this is deliberate and vile. You’re in the food industry. You owe your customers more respect than this. What are you trying to accomplish? Poisoning your reputation? You need to cut this shady nonsense out immediately.
I hope an inspection is coming your way soon because this kind of garbage doesn’t belong in the modern world. Show some respect for your customers, or you won’t...
Read moreI visited this Russian grocery store recently and, unfortunately, the cashier's attitude reminded me of old Soviet-era service. I was shopping with my child and we had a shared basket of items. While I tried to be polite and mindful, the cashier was extremely rude and dismissive. She started unpacking our items one by one, focusing on small candies instead of larger items like bread or dairy products. When I politely mentioned that there were more candies under other items, she snapped at me, saying I shouldn't tell her how to do her job. She even compared the situation to a large supermarket, suggesting that I wouldn't dare give instructions there. The entire interaction was unnecessarily confrontational and unprofessional. I was shocked by how outdated and unpleasant the service was. Needless to say, I won't be returning...
Read moreGreat option in this neighborhood for basic produce (bell pepper, cabbage, carrots, cilantro, etc.) less $$ than Safeway and is local. I go for the packages of buckwheat and also get eggs and produce while there. Sometimes seems to have very fresh rye bread delivered, but I don't know when. No fresh meat but has smoked fish, caviar, cured sausage. The Russian groceries are fun to try unusual things (check expiration dates on packages). I find the staff friendly enough, and find the negs by other reviewers on this point inappropriate--it's a neighborhood grocery,...
