10/10 would reccomend! I'm leaving this review on behalf of my senior parents who recently visited me in San Francisco from Kansas. They, along with an Aunt and Uncle who were also visiting, stayed at Seal Rock for 6 days while they were in town. They were all very happy with their stay, and had nothing but great things to say about the Seal Rock Inn. My Mom uses mobility aids such as a walker or wheelchair, so we made sure there was an elevator on-site before booking. That made it very easy for her to access the rooms, as they're all above the ground floor. They said the staff were always friendly and accomodating if they had questions or needed something, and were always courtious and polite in passing. I suggested Seal Rock to them, as I frequently go for walks at Land's End, (right across the street!) and had seen the place in passing. I always thought it looked like a really neat vintage hotel property, but had never met anyone who'd stayed there. I also enjoyed getting to visit my parents at Seal Rock Inn, and get to see it from the inside. The Inn gives me vintage California Mountain Lodge vibes. It has a huge open interior courtyard with a pool, table-tennis, and other activities for guests to enjoy. I also saw laundry on site, which is a nice plus. There is ground level parking at the building. It is listed as "first come first serve," but we never had an issue getting a parking spot on-site. The rooms were spacious and very comfortabale. The decor was vintage, but well kept and very neatly appointed. I personally thought the vintage decor really added to the cool vibe. My parents room had a queen bed along with a sleeper sofa and cozy chairs. There was plenty of storage space, which is great since my dad likes to load up on the snacks his hotel rooms! The bathroom and dressing area were nicely appointed, and easily accessable for my mom. Also, THE VIEWS! I couldn't get over the beautiful views of Sutro Heights and the Pacific Ocean beyond. The rooms have HUGE windows that allow you to take full advantage of some really stunning Pacific views. As usual, most of the days during their visit were foggy San Francisco summer days, but we got a few really spectacular clear sunsets, and had a prime view! Overall, I would highly recommend the Seal Rock Inn to anyone wanting a quiet and idyllic place to stay on the western shores fo San Francisco. I'll definitely be recommending the place to friends an family who visit in the future! I'd also like to personally thank the Seal Rock Inn for helping to take care of my parents during their visit, and ensuring they had a really great time while...
Read moreI am reluctant to give a 5-star rating and tell the world about what a delight the Seal Rock Inn is, because I am selfish and always want to be able to stay here myself. If it gets too popular, I will never be able to reserve for myself!!||But I have to be honest - I was very happy with my stay at the Seal Rock Inn. I had one of the 2-queen fireplace rooms on the 3rd floor, looking out toward Sutro Park. First of all, it is amazing to reserve a hotel in San Francisco and see trees and grass outside your window, not to mention the Pacific Ocean. ||The room was spacious (about 450 sq.ft.) and well appointed with two comfortable queen beds, a mini-refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker with coffee packs, and a generous supply of shampoos, lotions and other toiletries. There was also a large-screen TV and large view window looking out to Sutro Park. ||The shower was fine (although it takes a while for the water to get warm, at least in January) and the sink area was also fine. There was plenty of closet space to hang items as well.||The gas fireplace was fantastic and provides a very nice ambiance to the room; the other room heater worked very well too.||I had breakfast in the restaurant and was very pleased with my meal - scrambled eggs, Applewood smoked bacon, country potatoes and a tomato. The restaurant will once again be a place for locals to gather when they are able to.||The front desk staff I encountered were all very helpful and friendly, and even very kindly brought me two extra pillows when I requested them.||I will definitely be back and look forward to my next stay at the...

There have been many changes in the San Francisco food since COVID; so many great restaurants closed, and some not-so-great ones opened. I must say, however, that one really awesome restaurant to re-open is the SEAL ROCK INN RESTAURANT near the old Cliff House. It’s no surprise that the new place is now run by Chef extraordinaire ALFRED SCHILLING. Man, can that guy cook! Breakfast is breakfast – but not really; when you eat breakfast cooked by Chef Alfred, it’s an incredible experience. All I can say is do yourself a favor and go there!! The place is pretty, and Parisian-like (the bathrooms are really beautiful and clean, thank you !!!). We ordered the Eggs Florentine with a side of avocado – generous portions, potatoes were divine! Eggs were perfectly poached and so yummy – so yellow; we love that he uses organic products! The homemade brioche buns were so good…and the mountain of spinach with the creamy Hollandaise sauce was equally delicious. We also ordered the Mushroom and eggs dish that was simply to die for; what a unique array of mushrooms! Alas, we also ordered the French toast with candied pecans…ummm, MORE PLEASE!!! This place is definitely not to be missed. Coffee and service were...
