Went to see Tony & Tina’s Wedding at the Presidio Theatre last weekend and honestly had no idea what I was getting into. The show was wild (in the best way), but the venue itself really impressed me. First off, the location is perfect tucked away in the Presidio. The building looks beautiful at dusk with the lighting, and there’s something special about seeing theater in a space that feels both intimate and elegant. Way different from the big downtown venues. Inside, the theatre strikes this nice balance between professional and cozy. Good sightlines from every seat I could see, and the acoustics worked well even when the Tony & Tina cast was running around interacting with the audience. The lobby area has this warm, welcoming vibe with local art on the walls and space to actually move around during intermission without feeling cramped. For artists: State of the art theatre with secure and clean loading dock. Green room is awesome and their kitchen is stocked and clean. They have bathroom stage right there’s ample space in the wings to stretch. The back drop is backlit or top lit so very easy to put up projections without interference. They have a clean and modern rehearsal room with full length mirrors. Downstairs they have an entire wood shop, men/woman dressing room with full bathrooms/showers and “star” dressing rooms. They have 1 elevator for staff to use and an easily accessible stairwell. Their outdoor area is beautiful and the presidio in general is...
Read moreI saw an awesome performance tonight here, Walter Trout & Elvin Bishop’s big fun trio. Nice intimate venue with comfortable seats. However I had a bad experience with an usher. I videotaped a song & heard an usher yelling at me to stop after I was done. There were no signs saying no videotaping that I saw. Nor was anything noted at ticket sales. AND I was not the only one making a video. Had I known, no problem but this usher literally yelled at me, very rudely. The person next to me stated right after “man what a buzz kill she is!” Almost ruined the night for me. I posted the video to my YouTube...
