ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED with the POOR customer service experience I received at the Walnut Creek location. I am FULLY vaccinated as a healthcare worker but was denied entry to the class I had already signed up for. DO NOT GO TO YOGA FLOW SF studios as I have never received this much DISRESPECT from a facility towards the people who work so hard to protect everyone during COVID. Steven and Kathleen Holm's businesses will probably all shut down at this rate of losing customers.
*Response: I informed the front desk person that I had been vaccinated out-of-state and we DO NOT use digital vaccine records online. Even if I was vaccinated in CA, the fact that she tried to check my vaccination online is ILLEGAL. It says on the CA vaccination record website for any verification, "YOU ARE DECLARING UNDER THE PENALTY OF PERJURY under the laws of the State of CA that you are the patient or parent/guardian of the Patient and are therefore authorized to access the Patient's immunization record." I repeatedly explained to her that I will come back with my vaccination proof before my next class since it can't be the first time someone has forgotten their card. I even said that I always wear my mask to protect my elderly patients even outside the hospital and do not plan to take it off during class. She still rudely FORCED ME...

When I moved to San Francisco about two years ago, I had zero interest in becoming a 'yoga person.' Yoga was not even on my radar until my doctor recommended I try it out to deal with pandemic stress. After about six months at this studio, I still LOVE it.
After my first class, I felt more grounded and relaxed than I had felt in about six months. I never thought that moving around in so many ways (and sometimes trying to contort yourself like a pretzel) could be so effective at getting me out of my head. I also realized there is no such thing as a 'yoga person.' People from all walks of life show up to class, no one judges you for being new, and everyone is pretty friendly. Now I am a full-on yogi and go almost every week.
As far as the studio itself, all of the staff are super welcoming, and everyone seems very happy to be there. The building has an old-timey San Francisco charm, cool lights, and a solid sound system. Each teacher has a passion for what they do and a slightly different style for running their class, making for an exciting variety of workouts.
ALL the teachers are great.

Read moreThis is a wonderful yoga studio and I feel lucky to be a part of the community and practice. They've established something very special in this neighborhood near the San Francisco City College main campus. All of the instructors are excellent, experienced, clear and encouraging... there is a mix of younger & older, plus very skilled and beginning students that make classes inspiring but not intimidating. The studio itself is an historic, magical space with soaring ceilings, large windows (that can be shaded) - a beautiful wood floor and in-studio shelving to store your belongings, etc. They put a lot into designing the sound system especially for the room, warm lighting is perfectly placed and the heating system is the best I've felt to get the blood, bones and muscles humming. All of these details and the welcoming staff make it easier to move quickly from the outside world into the spiritual and physical practice. If you're visiting San Francisco it's a good reason to get into an interesting neighborhood and enjoy an uplifting...
