Today's experience put a bad taste in my mouth. I like coming here to support the local businesses but tonight I was treated pretty rudely.
I came in 5 min before 5pm on a Tuesday. I was in the area and decided to come here on a whim. I was helped by two older men, both with glasses, one with a beanie and the other without.
I walked up to the register and the one with a beanie asked what I would like. I told him what sandwich I wanted and to get 2 of them. Instantly he replied, "Next time you need to call us ahead to make food because we have things to do. We are closing soon. It would have been easier on us if you had called ahead of time".
I was shocked because I've come here at different times of the day and no one has ever said that to me before. I've come at 5pm before and never had I had someone mention that.
I just replied, "Oh okay I didn't know that". I was hesitant in continuing the order but decided this might just be the last time I come here since apparently making sandwiches is a hassle. The other man finished the transaction as the one with a beanie made the sandwiches.
After he called out my order, I asked him when did they start implementing this rule and what time did they close. He replied that because of the pandemic, they do not have many items and it would be easier to make the sandwich ahead of time. They still had one hour left until closing (closes 6pm). Before the pandemic, they closed at 9pm.
I replied that I've come here around this same time recently in the pandemic and he wasn't here and the other people never mentioned that to me.
He recognized that we have talked before and he tried to retract what he said --that either way, walk-in or by phone for food is okay at anytime for me. He tried explaining that "it's just much harder" for him that he had to make the sandwiches.
I found this incredibly rude because --where does it state that the kitchen closes an hour before? I've worked at Starbucks and have never told anyone that came in as a walk-in to order by mobile to "make things easier for me", no matter how busy or slow it was. Not even during the last hour before closing, heck not even 5 min before!
I understand if I had came in 1min before closing but I came in 65 min before closing. If there was a sign that stated to order food by calling, no walk-ins at a certain time--alright, but there was no sign. There were only a few people in the lobby too.
To management--add a sign so that people will know that walk-ins for food are not welcomed, "Call-in orders only" to "make it easier" for...

I saw this place had high reviews on google so I decided to give another local business a try. I walked in attempting to order two sandwiches and a smoothy when the owner walked away mid order to deliver someone their food. When he returned he completely ignored me until I asked "did you get my order?" The owner responded that he did and the chef is already working on it.
Food was made quick quickly to have be incomplete. In fact, the owner did not get my full order and was not willing to listen the first time around. After a few world exchange about the order being incomplete he asked the kitchen staff to complete my order.
Once all the food was made, I attempted to provide some feedback to the owner. I was hoping to tell him that maybe next time confirm the order with the client to make sure you're both on the same page. However the owner refused to exchange words with me besides the good old "F&%K YOU"
I walked out stating I will write this review to hopefully provide the feedback to the owner.
Sadly - the food was actually very good. I wish the owner would take more pride in good customer service, as he clearly does about his food.
What a shame to give such a low score so a place with lots...
Read moreSimilar to Sydnie’s review, I, too, faced the same rude treatment unfortunately. I had walked in at 6:30am and placed an order of 2 fruit smoothies and 1 falafel wrap. Immediately, the guy who took my order sighed and responded, “next time you need to call ahead to place an order this big. We’re busy. It just makes it easier on us. ” I was astonished. I didn’t realize 2 fruit smoothies and a wrap was a “big” order. Regardless, a sign at the entrance indicating orders of more than 1 item need to be called in ahead of time. At that moment, I almost retracted my order and would have left, but I felt bad for wasting the guys time for taking my order at all. So I replied, “I’m so sorry. I wasn’t aware.” And the guy reluctantly responded with a bothered tone, “it’s fine. Just call next time.” I nodded and waited.
Regardless of the low or high quality of food & bevs, rude customer service like that, which is clearly pervasive as I am not the only one to have faced such distasteful treatment, is callous and disrespectful. And is enough to drive customers away. I certainly will never return, and I hope management looks into such deficiencies and rectifies their training asap. No one ever deserves such off-putting...
