I have been shopping at this location for years and all the times were good. But these recent visits at this location made me feel really uncomfortable and being discrimination by the workers who work at this location, especially with their manger name Carolyn who is also Asian and a Mexican name Betty who work at the memberships department. Today with our 2nd visit at the same location with the same department, we got even worser customer service than last time. It is certainly the culture of this department of giving bad, discrimination customer services. We came back with our 2nd visit today wanted to get our address change since Betty didn't do it for us last time. We were first help by this guy name Asturo, he was nice at the beginning, and checked for address change. He let us know that the primary person has to be present to change the address. We were so confused, the primary should be changed last time with Betty according to her. We told Asturo that primary should have been changed with our visit last time. Then he said let me grab my manager to help you guys. Carolyn who is the manager came over and checked in their system to see our history. Then Asturo asked us if we were helped by a small Asian guy, I was like no it was a girl who helped us. Carolyn said after unfortunately we can't do anything for you today because the primary person is not present. We had let them know multiple times that we came here before was helped by this Mexican lady, she said she changed the primary person for us already. It made no sense to us that it wasn't change. Carolyn started giving us same excuses over and over again and kept meastions there's nothing she can do without my mom being present. While I was trying to explain to her again that we did changed the primary last time, she started rolling her eyes on me and said" Please don't raise your voice at me". I told her Iwas using the regular tone and volume speaking to all them and i been using this tone for the past 20 mins, then she didn't say anything. While my sister trying express how frustrated we were and were really upset about this situation and needed to multiple visits for the same reasons. Carolyn started talking over my sister because my sister had accent ,Carolyn started become very impatient with us and trying to get us out of there. I was shock by her attitude specially she is the manager. The way she talked to us was very rude and really disrespectful. I asked her if there's anyone else that I can talk to, she said I AM THE MANAGER, AND THERE'S NOTHING THAT I CAN DO FOR YOU TODAY. The way she reacted was ridiculous. For sure nothing coming back...
Read moreI recently visited Costco Wholesale at 1709 Automation Pkwy, San Jose, CA 95131, after hearing numerous positive reviews from friends and colleagues. They all mentioned that having a Costco membership offers fantastic value for money, and I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype. After my visit, I can confidently say that Costco exceeded my expectations in many ways.
Firstly, the location is very convenient and easy to find. The parking lot is spacious, which is great because it can get quite busy, especially on weekends. Despite the number of shoppers, the store is well-organized and maintained, which made my shopping experience pleasant and efficient.
One of the most significant advantages of shopping at Costco is the incredible range of products available. It truly is a one-stop solution for all your needs. From groceries, electronics, clothing, and home goods to automotive supplies and even furniture, Costco offers a wide variety of high-quality items at competitive prices. I was particularly impressed with the fresh produce section, which had a diverse selection of fruits, vegetables, and meats, all at very reasonable prices.
The membership model is definitely worth it. As a member, you get access to exclusive deals and bulk pricing, which can result in significant savings, especially for families or those who like to stock up. The store also offers a variety of services, including optical, pharmacy, and photo centers, which add even more value to the membership.
The staff at this location were friendly and helpful. They were readily available to answer questions and provide assistance, which made my shopping experience even more enjoyable. The checkout process was efficient, with multiple lanes open to handle the high volume of customers quickly.
One minor downside is that the store can get crowded, and navigating the aisles with a large cart can be a bit challenging at times. However, the overall shopping experience more than makes up for this small inconvenience.
In conclusion, Costco Wholesale in San Jose is an excellent place for all kinds of shopping. The membership fee is justified by the extensive selection of products, competitive prices, and added services. If you’re looking for a convenient, cost-effective shopping experience, I highly recommend visiting this...
Read moreI never imagined that trying to buy a car battery at Costco would end with me crying in the parking lot.
4 weeks ago my husband’s car broke down at work. He couldn’t start it and asked if I could go to the home nearest Costco to get a battery for him so he could drive home. Since we usually buy tires and car related products from Costco, it seemed like a natural choice.
And He had a spare phone so he asked to logged into his Costco account, I took it and headed to the store. At the entrance I calmly explained to the greeter that I was using my husband’s account, and that his car not working so I need help him . I wasn’t sure if Costco allowed this kind of purchase under hunsband ’s membership, so I wanted to ask first. The greeter was kind and led me to the membership counter to get clarification.
Then something happened that still feels deeply wrong.
I was mid sentence explaining the situation when the man at the counter, without asking or saying anything, took the phone out of my hands and immediately logged my husband’s account out. He simply said, “You’re not authorized to use this account. Sorry”
I wasn’t there to hack anything. I wasn’t trying to cheat the system. I clearly stated: If this isn’t allowed, I’ll leave and go buy a battery elsewhere. But instead of giving me an answer, he treated me like I was doing something wrong like I was untrustworthy. And he acted like he had the right to take my phone and log me out.
I couldn’t stop thinking: if I were a 6-foot-tall white man, would he have done the same? Or was it because I was an Asian woman, alone, looking like someone easy to dismiss?
I didn’t argue. I just left, sat in my car, and cried. Later, I called Costco and was given the phone number for the store manager. I explained the situation. The manager said they would “look into it. they also not agree what the staff done. ” It’s been a month. No follow up. No apology. Nothing.
I will never return to that store. It’s not about being denied a purchase , it’s about how deeply humiliating it was to be treated like I wasn’t even worthy of basic respect. Now, I don't want to pass that entrance, I feel that same shame all over again. I guess they don't care to lost 10+...
