Had an amazing experience here. We were looking for a new barber place, mostly for my son. Our old barber unfortunately had to leave during the pandemic. We have looked for a new place but were having no luck. My Son really loves the old barber kind of place. I called to get information and the young lady on the phone was very nice and informative. You can tell already they were customer friendly, never pushed for services. I decided to book an appointment for myself and my son. We got to the place on the day and time of the appointment and were welcomed warmly. My wife went with us as well to check it out. They gave us a tour of the place and answered any questions we had. This was during their soft opening. We were offered our drinks and were ready to get our haircuts. The owner comes out and had some bad news for us, my son is 7 and they only do 12 years and older. There was a miscommunication about this. They don't have booster chairs for young kids or had planned for young kids are the moment. He really felt bad telling us that but said for this time he can see about accommodating us this time. They wouldn't be able to do the full service but at least a cut. He got his cut and it was great and my son really loved it. It also helped that he is not running around and also sits still during his hear cuts. I got my hair cut and bread trimmed at the same time. Mike did great work with my cut and bread trim. I felt ready to just get some nice clothes on and hit the town. The owner felt bad that my son didn't get the full service but we told him we understood and not to worry, him at least getting my son a cut was good but he gave my son some swag and made him feel like a VIP. It was truly beyond expected. The service was already a 10/10 but the customer service made it 100 times over that. Thank you again. I...
Read moreThis hair salon is extremely unprofessional and uncourteous. My experience with these folks is below:
My wife makes a reservation for me as a gift. This experience was already prepaid. I turn up at the slated appointment time to be told that it was one hour after. I dismiss it to be a honest mistake or scheduling error so I sit down and patiently wait for an hour and some more. At 20 minutes past my scheduled time - I start getting impatient as I haven’t been called and come to the front, only to be told that my stylist is finishing up. Finally, I get seen and they give me a premium hair cut and beard trim and I’m at the front producing the gift card. They tell me that it’s no good to my surprise. I call my wife and we get the large white guy “manager” and he checks things and clarifies that it was a mistake and that there was $120 on it and they proceed to charge the rest to which my wife explains that she was told that as a first time - this was all inclusive.
Then I add a tip and get to my car and notice that the beard trim was done poorly and was not looking symmetrical and even length.
I return and explain that it’s not done well and to fix it. They proceed to tell me that they can only take me tomorrow and cannot now. Being adamant and expressing my disappointment - they finally state they’ll see me end of day. Which I did not have patience for after all this so I left.
Please refrain from this place and save yourself your money, time and...
Read moreThis was my first experience at Hammer & Nails, I came in for a beard trim and was talked into trying a Manicure and Pedicure ( I have never experienced one before and the provider was very positive I would love it). She was absolutely right.
The ambiance was perfect, warm wood, deep and dark colors with gentle lighting, a fine whiskey in hand. My beard had ceased being a feature on my face and had become its own entity. Erika was fantastic with reigning in my rebellious beard and returned my face back to me.
The manicure and pedicure were otherworldly. As someone who struggles to do things for myself and never pauses in rushing off to the next job, the next person, and the next objective - I am the last to eat, the last to sleep, and the last person to consider how I’m doing.
I have never experienced such care for myself as I did today. I’ve never been treated so well, I never knew how much pain and responsibility could be lifted with a mani and pedi!
I honestly nearly cried once or twice, and a warning for those who are brave enough to experience self-care, once you are done, please get up and walk slowly. I nearly fainted with all the renewed circulation in my system.
Shirley and Nancy worked what I can only assume is decades of stress out of me and I don’t think I can ever go back to that level of ignorance or irresponsibility.
Folks, take care of yourselves. Try a new whiskey, take that day off, and give a mani or pedi a try. Even better...
