I've been coming to Rancho Del Pueblo for about a year now, at least once a week. It's a great place to relax, spend time with friends and enjoy the outdoors. It's a pretty cheap course, and one of the few that offer footgolf. It's $12 for 9 holes and $10 for a replay if you can get a 2nd tee time.

The staff is pretty good, especially Celeste and Stacey. One time, a friend of mine had a serious injury on the 8th hole, and Stacey came to the rescue in a golf cart! She even helped the EMT's get through and guided them to where we were. Celeste is always sweet and treats us like we're family.

Update:

I had originally posted a low score and details on what happened, but decided to omit those parts due to the way management handled the situation. I'll go into those details in this update instead.

Here's what happened:

There was a bad interaction with a specific employee, and I sent an email to Colleen Henry (The manager at Rancho Del Pueblo) She responded early morning the next day and I have nothing but good things to say about how she handled the situation. In fact, it was so refreshing that I feel they deserve 5 stars rather than my original review of 3 stars.

She was very apologetic regarding the behavior of the employee I previously posted about, and also showed genuine concern about how I was feeling. I won't go into specific details of our conversation, out of respect to her and the employee in question, even though she never said not to. I personally just don't think that would be appropriate. All I can say is that I wanted the best for all involved, and so did she. We all make mistakes, and everybody has their bad days, I'm more than willing to forgive and forget, and I have hope that the employee in question is willing to do the same.

Rancho is great, as I mentioned in my original post, you really should check it out for yourself to see that. Everybody on the course wants to have a good time, even the geese are nice, and we all know geese can be pretty mean sometimes. I'll be going back again and continuing my goal of beating my friends all time high score! I really liked Colleen's attitude, quick response to the issue, and gratitude for my support of her business. Many others in her position might have just avoided this all together, but she really proved to me that she is compassionate and someone who takes her job seriously. I wish her the best and can't wait to see her to say hello in person next...

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Sneakily Extra Charge My recent visit to this golf course was a terrible experience. We arrived at 3:58 PM and inquired about the available tee times. Another staff member, the first person we met at the pro shop, told us there were openings at 4:10 and 4:30. We chose the 4:10 PM slot and proceeded with the payment. However, during the process, we were sneakily booked for 3:50 PM and charged an extra $10 for the pre-4 PM rate.

We didn’t realize this right away. When we were about to tee off, we met the two players who were also booked for the 4:10 PM slot. We introduced ourselves, got ready to start, and had no delays whatsoever. As my partner and I were preparing to tee off, another staff member who introduced himself as Henry suddenly approached us with a hostile attitude, insisting that we had booked a 3:50 PM tee time and that it was already 4:10 PM, meaning we had missed our tee time. This was obviously impossible, as we only arrived at the pro shop at 3:58 PM and booked the 4:10 PM time right then.

We calmly explained to Henry that we had no prior booking and that the staff member had helped us book the 4:10 PM tee time upon arrival. However, Henry refused to listen and continued to criticize us harshly. We didn’t want to argue further, as we just wanted to enjoy our game. This entire exchange delayed our start (which becomes important for the time issue later on).

After finishing the first hole, Henry sped over in his golf cart with the same rude attitude, informing us that we had taken 15 minutes on the first hole when the standard time was 10 minutes, meaning we were 5 minutes behind. He sternly warned us to speed up. But part of this delay was due to the time wasted explaining the tee time confusion to him.

To anyone reading this: I don’t believe this was the first time they’ve tried something like this. It felt like a deliberate attempt to overcharge us by sneakily booking us for a pre-4 PM tee time. This time, they got caught because of poor communication between staff members, but I’m not sure they won’t do it again. I advise anyone coming to this course to...

I recently played at Rancho del Pueblo and while the course itself offers a solid layout and decent conditions for a muni track, my experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the conduct of the lady marshal on duty.

Instead of promoting a positive pace and atmosphere, she was unprofessional and inconsiderate toward players on the course. Her tone and approach felt more confrontational than constructive, making the round feel rushed and unpleasant—especially when we were already keeping pace with the group ahead and on pace for completing the course within the standard time.

A marshal’s job should be to support the players and improve the overall experience, not diminish it. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously, because this kind of interaction can really affect a golfer’s impression of the course.

Update: Two weeks later and over 224 views, still no response...

Great little short course to get some 150 yard practice on. Played with my son who’s 4 they were very accommodating to him. Pace of play seemed a little slow but being all par 3’s I kinda expected it. Tee boxes were a little uneven not sure by design or not greens were soft and rolled fine. Definitely worth checking out! Need logo balls though so I can add it to my collection.

Great place for a quick round of 9-holes with the guys. Just don't get there late, or you may get locked in like we did. Course Employees didn't do a last minute check on the course, left, & we were locked in! What an adventure, having to climb over the fence with all our bags, & carts! Never thought that Would've happened to us. 55 yrs. & climbing a fence to get out!
