Marina Plaza Shopping Center — Attraction in San Mateo

I should have read the reviews before going in. I searched for stores with live seafood and this one was closest to the freeway, so I jumped off and went. Their prices on crab where the highest I've seen at any Asian market but I wasn't going to go driving around to save a few dollars. I asked for three crabs with claws and legs intact. The guy behind the car spoke perfect English and there was no misunderstanding. He went behind the tank and emerged a few moments later closing up the paper bag and then put in the plastic bag and double tied it. Shame on me for not opening it up to make sure he had done what I'd ask. Instead I got to my destination and found that he had given me crabs with claws and legs missing. We discovered this place on a whim, and fell in love with it. I love the atmosphere and the shops in this plaza.

The restaurants are really good with many variations. So far I have tried 3-4 restaurants here and they are delicious. The boba shop is just average, but it’s the only one in the area.

The supermarket is the centerpiece of the strip mall. This place has been around for ages. Nice selection of bakery, a few restaurants, has a barber shop and beauty salon.
