Wanted to let you all know about a new resort we found in Sandusky this past weekend! Warning.. It's a long read, but worth it!
We were planning a trip to Cedar Point / CP Sports and during our search came across Bayfront Resort at Crossview, which instantly grabbed my attention.
We stayed in a 6 person "tiny home" cottage, which despite the name, was more than spacious enough for us. We have 7 kids, but due to other obligations, only 6 of us went, so it fit the bill perfectly!
They paid serious attention to detail here and really left no stone unturned. There is a full kitchen, with a full sized fridge, stove/oven, microwave and dishwasher and all the cooking utensils you need to make Thanksgiving dinner (seriously).
One of the kiddos played in a tournament at the CP sports center, so the fact that we had a washer and dryer in the unit was a big win, heck they even included a couple tide pods and dryer sheets.
The home includes a private bedroom in the back, a set of bunks and a bed in the loft. 2 smart tvs (already logged into netflix btw), a fireplace, and hardwood flooring throughout.
Outside you have a LARGE covered porch and chairs, firepit, bbq grill and picnic table. Speaking of the outside, the real star are the VIEWS!
The resort sits right on Sandusky Bay and some cottages have full bay views (I highly recommend number 1, the view here is unmatched) with others being partial. It's pretty awesome seeing Cedar Point lit up at night and if you time your trip right, the views of the CP fireworks in the summer can't be beat! (Alternatively in the winter, the NYE fireworks that launch from downtown would be in your line of sight also).
If you're an RV'er, they have several pull thru sites and if you aren't one, but would like to try one out, you can rent a unit and they will have it delivered to the resort and set up for you!
The resort also has a pool, clubhouse, store and yes... Some of the best views around!
The staff goes above and beyond and really make you feel like a family friend!
We can't recommend The Bayfront Resort At Crossview enough as it will definitely become our go to place when visiting the area.. Actually it gives you even more of a REASON to visit the area.
Heads up.. Sorry for all the pics.. I went a little...
Read moreWe absolutely loved our stay at Bayfront Resort at Cross View! It was such a needed break for us (2 wives and our pup) and was all we hoped for and more. A gorgeous view of the lake, theme park, and sailing competitions right from our RV spot that we enjoyed every second possible. This is a wonderful, clean & pretty facility with such friendly staff. The bathrooms/showers were stunning (so fancy!), the pool area was perfect with a nice temp, and our RV concrete pad was lovely and clean with a great picnic table. Our dog also loved the quiet dog park area for his morning walks! The only improvement we would like to see to make this place even better would be to upscale the firepit area, and we also would love the idea of a swimming area for easy access to swim in the lake, and some kayak/paddleboard rentals on-site which we would have definitely made use of. We took day trips to Marblehead Lighthouse, Huron Lighthouse & Pier, Downtown Sandusky, & of course the Cedar Point Shores Waterpark for our anniversary which was so much fun. Overall, we felt very spoilt and were so pleased with our choice to stay here for our 5-night vacation to Sandusky and would come back again without a...
Read moreStayed here for the 2024 Solar Eclipse. The park was in a great location for viewing. Upon checkin we were greeted by friendly staff, especially Pam and Anthony. They had goodie bags for the eclipse and a free taco lunch on the day of the eclipse. I thought this made the event a little more special along with all the other eclipse seekers that were staying. Nice extra touch! The RV resort isn't huge but has plenty of spaces including back in and pull throughs with full hook ups. All the sites are level and paved with a picnic table and fire pit. The club house, bath house, laundry and pool area were very clean. The club house had free muffins on Sunday and there are vending machines and games to play. The pool was closed for the season, but looks like a nice area for kids in the summer. The location is near the historic downtown and across the bay from Cedar Point. The roadways are wide and definitely big rig friendly. There are some small cabins on site you can rent as well. I would definitely recommend this rv resort to anyone with or without an RV if you need to stay in the area or visit Cedar Point. Everything is very clean and...
