please do not book here and save your money by going around the corner to Cedar Cove. It’s the same price but a much nicer option.
I came here a few months ago while visiting Cedar Point and on the way here, I knew we needed to Find a spot to stay overnight and didn’t want to spend five or $600 at a Cedar Point hotel Especially since we would only be here to sleep and then takeoff when we woke up.
However, when I found this place on Google It looked pretty nice so I decided to call and book a stay that day. I was never told about any sort of cancellation fee or refund policy while speaking on the phone yet, my card was run for the total cost.
Upon arriving to the motel, we noticed it didn’t look nearly as nice as it looked in the photos so we wanted to check out the room prior to the stay. We were told by the lady at the desk that we could not look at the room and that I had already paid, but “ don’t worry, I know the outside doesn’t look great, but the inside of the room rooms Are much better”
Upon arriving into the room, we always check sheets first and noticed right away multiple spots on the sheets. Including one that looked like it may have been dry blood. We also found candy wrappers under the table. We immediately went to the office and told them that we were not comfortable staying here and requested a refund. The same lady that checked us in told us that the owner is a little funny with giving refunds and that he had just left. She asked to send her photos of the pictures. I sent them to her email and she said that she’d have him call me. Several days passed and I never got a phone call. after not receiving a call, I call back and spoke with the same woman that checked us in and she mentioned that the owner John was outside of the country. Based on reviews, I’ve seen below. This seems to be an excuse used quite often so that the owner doesn’t have to speak directly with customers that have problems. I even called choice hotels, and they told me in order to get a refund, I would need to go through the motel. They gave me the gm’s email, but I never got any sort of response after emailing them. After a few weeks of no contact, I decided to call back and I spoke with a pleasant man. I think his name was Harry. He offered me A 50% refund. I was not OK with this since we were there for less than 10 minutes and would Have stayed if the motel was in better shape. After multiple phone calls with Harry and a three-way call with Harry and the woman that checked us in originally we could not come to a satisfying resolution. I asked for the owner to call me and now it’s been several weeks again and not one communication.
I’m VERY disappointed with my experience here, and hope that whoever is reading this, goes...
Read moreWe are from Michigan. We were so excited about our trip to Cedar Point, we haven't been in so long but always loved it as kids. So I was so excited to take my son this year and booked it through booking.com. Sadly most of Michigan lost power for the week and are still without power. Our basement flooded the day before our trip and we were unable to make it due to clean up and making sure the generator was running. I called Rodeway Inn North thinking they would understand the severity of the situation (over 600,000 were without power in Michigan and still are).... but NO! I was charged the full rate even after explaining my situation. When I asked to speak to a supervisor he told me he was the "supervisor" and told me I had to go through booking.com to get my refund because he did not have control over the refund... So I talked to booking.com and they tell me it is COMPLETELY up to the property to get a refund... but they told me I could file a "waiver of fees" but it could take up to 48 hours, which was fine so I did it. I didn't hear anything back all day and then my phone rings at 12:26am (really? who calls in the middle of the night?) and it's the "supervisor" from Rodeway Inn calling to see why I didn't "check in"? I told him I put in a waiver to cancel fees and he replied, I know, I am the one who spoke with you yesterday, I responded I still have no power and he said all he could do was knock one night off and I said okay well thank you and hung up but the more I thought about the more frustrated i got because my other family members who were staying at the campground at Cedar Point had to cancel as well and Cedar Point gave them a FULL refund due to "a state of emergency". So I called back and said l wanted to speak with an owner because it was the same "supervisor" who answered. He told me he was the owner at first and then very quickly changed his story and said he was the "highest up position I was going to speak with"... He then when on to explain that the owner was never there and lived in Massachusetts. I asked if the owner had a phone number and I was told no. The "supervisor" then got angry with me and told me he is not giving me ANY refund and I will be charged the full amount. I looked 10 minutes later at my bank account and sure enough my card was charged the FULL amount $280.94 for two nights! What a deal.... Personally, I've never stayed there so I don't know how disgusting the hotel is but I will NEVER stay there or USE booking.com AGAIN! I hope no one gets...
Read moreIf I could give this hotel a negative, I would. I'm normally not high maintenance, but this was completely horrifying. I know that if we didn't show up late that night, we wouldn't have even stayed the night. First of all, the walls were covered in dirt, and the wall paint was chipping off. It seemed as though the walls were never cleaned. My room wasn't even fully carpeted, a bed covered up parts of where the carpet wasn't at. That's not even the worst thing about my room, there were bugs all throughout the room. One of which including a huge spider and multiple webs. In fact, my little brother couldn't even fall asleep because he was terrified that more were going to come during the night. Also, the bed had stains all over it, and the bedspring was severely worn out. Not just that though, th beds were smaller than stated so my brothers were forced to sleep on one of the hotels extra beds on wheels, and multiple hair balls came along with it. Another thing that completely grossed me out, was it looked as though there was water damage in the bathroom. The shower looked pretty nice until you looked at the floor/drain and was rusted and filled witch hair. Absolutely unacceptable, I am very ashamed that I was even had the thought of staying at this place, let alone actually having to stay the night. A change is severely needed for this place. I brought my friend on this trip and my step mom was serverly embarrassed at the quality of the hotel room. That shouldn't be a worry when booking a hotel. If the hotel staff had kept up with the maintenance that one requires, it would be slightly more comfortable. We normally don't pick out flaws of things, but this was so unbearable that we had to book a new hotel the next night. I would never recommend choosing this place. In fact, I would rather sleep in my car. I do definitely recommend spending a little extra money to stay at a place that is suitable for the vacation...
