If you are looking for a quick Chattahoochee hike, you might consider this one. This is a nice bridge to reach the island where you'll find a history marker and a boat put-in. There is also a bench on the island that would make for a peaceful place to hang out with a book.
However, this is a main parking area/HQ for a river tubing/rafting company so the general area is sorta trashed. Depending on the day, you might find it somewhat crowded with their customers and all that goes with that.
As for trails, they are pretty narrow so beware of poison ivy mid-summer...or just wear pants. There are also some ruins to explore around the...

It's easy to get in because of the concrete stadium steps they have going right into the water. Nice slow float, with a few stops along the way (there's a 20-25 ft cliff that you can jump from at about the halfway point), and it lasted about 2 hours.
