Well, we had a great time on our raft going down the river. The staff was very friendly and polite, however they didn’t explain anything at all. We had to ask about the rock where you jumped from and their explanation was very vague and of course we missed it. That was a disappointment. We were told to exit after the second bridge and we did, waited for 45 minutes and decided to call them and let them know we were ready to be picked up, somehow we were transferred to another location where they told us to go bck on the raft and go to the other side of the river bcs we have gone out on the “wrong side”. We couldn’t find the plc they told us and before we knew it we were lost with two young children and no more water. We called them again and they told us that they don’t know who told us to get bck on the raft and that we needed to get out of the river “now”. They were no boat ramps anywhere. We finally got close to a wall of rocks and weeds and were able to get out, climb up with the kids and ended up on a track field of a high school. We told NOC were we were and waited for them to puck us up. Everyone was pretty calmed and helped to bring the raft up the wall. I was a mess, crying, scared, my kids were scared too. It wasn’t pleasant but it seem like nobody was really concerned for us. When we finally arrived bck to the NOC facility nobody asked if we were ok, we were not offered any water or anything. Then we grabbed four drinks to what at least they should have not allowed us to pay for. They need signs to indicated where to exit, where the rock is, the beach etc. They also need more helpful and professional...
Read moreThis was my first time tubing and it was awesome. They give you cooler floats and the route is a good length of time (abt 2hrs) and it's pretty cool. The water stank tho!! Be careful don't drink that water. No surprise there because it is a river flowing through the largest city in GA (not too mention crossing one of the busiest interstates in ATL (75)). I did enjoy my time here and despite the water being sus I still jumped off a cliff and had an amazing time. A couple things, bring some good secure shoes in case you gotta stand up and maneuver the tube. Also, this might've just been an us thing but we did have a lil chaotic moment where crocs were lost and tubes were floating away. Be ready to paddle, try to make sure you can see what route you wanna take to avoid rocks, it is easy to get distracted with convos. Also, BRING SUNSCREEN WITH YOU. You will be directly under the sun with no shade for 2+hrs. It is not a dangerous activity in my opinion. If you're going to do the cliff jump though, make sure you can SWIM or use your provided life jacket. It is a lot of fun but remember it is still a moving river so don't underestimate it. Besides the obvious and expected pollution, everything was worth it and I would totally...
Read moreI went on a little adventure with a big group of friends in August. The river was super cold even in late summer so thankfully the sun was quick to warm up our tubes. What makes this little 2-3 hour trip doable is all the help we received at our outpost. Staff lets you use their air hose for blowing up your tubes, sell life jackets, and buy water, etc. (the river constables will fine you if you don't have them on your person). And I had so much fun!
There are several parts with dips and a place where you can stop for cliff diving. So you can definitely take your time with it. Most will park @Pace Mill Boat Ramp for drop off and carpool back with friends to this location....
