:: Update 2 :: Amazing!!!! They did such a great job revitalizing this park. The play structures are great, new trees are going to offer beautiful shade when mature, and the overall walkability under the existing mature trees makes this new park feel like it's been here for ages. So grateful for this beautiful addition to our neighborhood! Families FINALLY out walking, running, kids playing. The park feels like it ought! Also, a huge thanks for the addition of security patrols to keep the vagrants at bay. :: Update 1 :: Construction has started on the park update, which is exciting, however all this means now is a fenced area for the vagrant population to retreat to ever since 2525 was demolished. There was a park patrol for the area but looks like they either lost funding or something else happened because the buildings are tagged and the temp toilets are littered with needles. The beautiful plan for the park is going to be a waste of $2m if the city can't keep the vagrants out. This would be an amazing park but the drug addict population masquerading as homeless make it completely unsafe to let your kids run around and explore the bushes and rocks. I personally spent 5 minutes and found broken glass everywhere and two spent needles. When will the city officials start prioritizing tax paying citizens over freeloading druggies?

Mother Nature. What an amazing creator. She has all those trees (some are just WOW even if I have seen these trees before) for all of us to admire and appreciate. The birds (best to be there by right when they open and a very good set of binoculars) are just amazing to watch. I've see birds I knew existed but never actually seen one till one day I decided to go early in the morning. The trails are cool and spacious good exercise for the heart and lungs because they don't have huge hills to overcome and you are limited as to how extreme you are allowed to exercise. Be sure to bring your 🐩🐕 so funny to watch them wanting to catch a 🐿️. At one end of the park they have a very peaceful nature garden. Well maintained and lots of info regarding each plant, flower, tree, and wildlife. This is best area to go bird watching. They do have a playground but I honestly would not go near it. HELLO COVID-19! If you do please follow guidelines to prevent an outbreak and for the safety of your children. This really is a nice park and trust me, you feel you are going to go crazy visit this park. My stress level decreased in just 2 visits and now I catch myself visiting this park once a month. Happy Trailing and PLEASE wear your 😷 and carry hand sanitizer or wear latex/latex free gloves.

I’m taking an trip down E Memory Lane to the Santiago Park in Santa Ana! It’s located near the big business of Orange County, Main Place Mall and Discovery Cube O.C. This beautiful piece of stream fed urban oasis land provides a quick getaway for the business community and families of the county seat. It’s a good sized park extended from the Santiago Creek Wildlife and Watershed natural area. It’s designed as a natural place with the amenities of a common city park. Bike riders and hikers can get a scenic passage on park trails and have a picnic at the tables on the lawn and under the trees! Lawn bowling, tennis and baseball play are provided for, with the courts and baseball field. The west end of the park is under redevelopment, including a playground, pathways and restrooms. I’ll look foreword to the opening of this new addition with an update! Parking is accessible off of E Memory Lane and Santiago Street. The outer fringes of the parking lots may by inundated with vehicular hang-out’s, tho step(s) side into the lots are usually more associated with actual park users.

Visit this park today. There were. Few odd situations with this place. I park near the back area of Santiago St. I was hanging out here passing time and studying. I had to use the restroom also discovered I had to walk a long ways to the bathroom. Once I got to the restroom there was water every where something was leaking from the ceiling and from the stall I was in didn’t notice until I got outside the button seat of my pants was soaking wet. So I walked back to my car decided to move closer the restroom so I drove around parked and continue to rest and study. As I was sitting the park security continually to patrol the parking lot where I was finally stopped in front of me with headlights dam near blinding me. I didn’t budge because on goggle the hours of the park said 10 pm closing time it wasn’t even close to that time. It was about to be 8:30 this guy yelled out of his car “ Yo you gotta go” in a very nasty way I yelled back the park is not closing yet so I am not leaving. He heard me and pulled his vehicle front facing the same way I was but right next to me then he hopped out of his vehicle and started walking towards my car I immediately grabbed my phone and began recording because now at this point I felt threatened and so at this point I grabbed my phone and started recording and then i exited my car to take down this guy name badge and vehicle #. I think I was being racially profile because I am black and a woman. There were other cars still in the park he made me leave as I was committing a crime. He try to tell me that the website hours of the park wasn’t up dated and try to tell me about posted signs of such statement but I didn’t see them to verify if that was true. So I feel like the website should be updated and their security needs personal and professional development in communication with ppl of other races. I feel real disrespect and that guy needs to be chastise for his approach and...
